Nine-times Bathurst 1000 winner and Australian motor racing legend Peter Brock has been killed while competing in the Targa West Tarmac Rally in Western Australia.

This is an absolute shock again..two of our greatest australians taken in one week. Both doing what they love and what they do best. It is strange.

Dont know if many non-aussies know Brocky, but he has dominated Australian Motor Sport for the past three decades, had retired but occasionally still raced, and has the 'Peter Brock Foundation' a charity which supports a wide range of community programs.

A sad day...a sad week for us aussies  :'(

Oh no! I think you guys have just had about the worst week in hisory for losing important people! Now, we don't want to lose any yaks, so please tread carefully for a bit - no risks... cancel all skydiving plans etc. etc.!

I don't believe it, it all seems so surreal. I just watched a Steve Irwin memorial program on Animal Planet this afternoon, I still can't believe he's gone and then this news just came in!

We where shocked to hear about Peter Brock a friend of ours was racing the the rally and was  2 car ahead of brock when the accident happened
 

if there is any consolation it is he died doing what he loved
