Does anyone know what has happenned to the Ron 500 cards?
Last i heard they were an MPC exclusive but does anyone actually have one?
I bought one last week off ebay and it is #30.
My other question is if anyone has a 500 card does one exist with a number over 100?
My point is i guess i've only seen a handful of the 500s and is it possible that they are just a misprint of the 100 and that there is only really 100 Ron Robes?
Or is MPC just sitting on them and slowly building up a fortune releasing them-does this seem ethical by the way? Having an exclusive direct from the manufacturer and selling them all for auction?
Just wondering

This is what i found in a list of all cards:

Black cloak worn by Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley (500; reportedly only 130 produced)

Yeah I think Greenpaw already has a base set Smiley

Anyway, yes I have spoken to both Darren at cards inc and MPC about this, the general belief is that only 140 ish were made as they ran out of fabric (now that seems odd to me), Rupert Grint was sent some, Warner Bros. have some Cards Inc have some, and MPC has the rest!

Whilst you guys may think holding the market to randsom is unethical, it IS an MPC exclusive and from Darren's words will NOT be available elsewhere, the card is currently fetching a price only slightly above it's expected price if it really is limited to 130/140.

Having said that MPC didn't get a lot of the dealer incentive cards (red promos with the binder, gold promos with 5 cases, honeydukes, peartree etc) that he was supposed to have been given so this does make up for it!

It's pretty rough on collectors who want to have a master set to have to buy Ron and Harry's identical cards twice though I admit I probably wouldn't do it!

Well, I can only think of 4, it's not THAT overwhelming Tongue

But I just wouldn't buy repeated cards... well perhaps when I have ALL the other cards! At the moment I find it hard in the LOTR set to buy autos from the same character (although Viggo is a notable exception to this, with the single explanation - it's VIGGO so Mark and I think it's cool to have all 3 autos charting his rise to being King Smiley).

I do also own Harry and Hermione clothing cards where the fabric is the same though so that's just as bad!

This calls for an eyeroll -->  Roll Eyes

LOL, I agree though Smiley Have you seen him in any of his other movies?

I'd love 3 Frodo's to chart his demise as the ring takes him too - but they didn't do that and I don't actually own a Topps frodo auto  Tongue

No, I've not got around to seeing Hildago yet!

I saw Viggo for 10 minutes in some Miltary movie or other, I joined in half way through and it was on so late (like 2 in the morning) I switched off -but who wouldn't his shorts were embarassingly short, he wore a baseball cap and he wasn't Aragorn  Tongue

Yeah, definitely GI Jane - I thought he was quite good in it, but definitely not Viggo as I'd like to know him!

Hey I could always use another base set thanks Samwise  Grin
Though my son is 3 years old so i'm sure they'd end up as submarines quite quickly.
No offense meant about the "ethical" thing i'm just surprised as its lack of availability and pictured MPC sitting on a regular income for the next 10 years. Not that there's anything wrong with that... Grin. In a way i'm glad there is not 500 (+100) of them out there. So this means the Ron Robe is still the rarest costume card in any variation 100 or "500"?
McGonagall-you must be one of the two people in the world who has not seen LOTR-you just blew me away!

Whilst we are a friendly bunch on this forum, we would not have acccepted anything except a positive review of LOTR! In fact, your name would probably have been mud if you had said anything else... hmmm mudblood=half breed = non fans of LOTR  Tongue

sorry guys ,
You guys have to remember that i have kids and what we watch is movies for all ages and i thought that lotr was just a bit to harsh for my 3 year old.
Sorry FTY no lotr cards for me Harry potter, charmed and stargate are as far as I am going.

But i must admit i wouldn't mind seeing the rest of the lotr movies but will watch them in my bedroom still don't want my youngest to watch.

Totally agree!

I am 24 and I was traumatised by the first LOTR (FOTR). However, we bought the Extended edition FOTR and totally accustomised myself to Lurtz and the Orcs... and now I can watch it without looking away

(yes I expect you all to post here about what a brave lass I am Smiley it just all seemed much more "tally ho" and British in the books Smiley)
