I don´t think it is a variant. The surface doesn´t look good to me. But it´s hard to say.

I think it could be a bit taken from the bottom of the bag. The paper bags will be glued together at the bottom to create something that would stand alone. I think it's been pulled apart to make the swatch.

No, I most certainly do NOT consider it a variant

(well, no more of a variant than a smudged signature)

I'd really regard it as a slightly second rate card

Is there any design on the Dervish & Banges bag?  All I've ever seen on the cards are plain, green swatches.
