Hey guys and gals,
A bunch of my friends and I are heading down to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina tomorrow.  Its about a 9 hour car ride, so we are officially calling it a road trip.  To pass the time, we agreed that each of us would make a cd with some good 'road trip/beach' music.  I've put together about half of what I think sounds good.....but was hoping you guys might be able to lend some advice.

Know any good 'road trip-esque' songs that I can put on this cd?  All genres are fair game....anything that will sound good cruising down the highway.  Thanks in advance guys.

Oh yea, and the winner gets all his drinks paid for at the club the first night.  So, if you guys have some good songs for me, I'll raise a few glasses in your honor  Grin

I don't have any specific songs to offer you, but any song by the Beach Boys or Jan & Dean would be good for the beach music theme.  Also you'd need to have the Surfaris "Wipeout".  I think songs that everyone could sing along with would be real cool. Cool

A few Queen and Meatloaf classics wouldn't go amiss  Grin  For really good singalong songs how about Abba - people may not admit to listening to them but everyone knows the words  Grin

Life is a Highway - I once drove from Maryland to Florida and I swear every hour this song played, so now every time I hear it, I think ROAD TRIP!

Whenever I've done a road trip, I liked loud, fast music to keep me awake.  Try "Kickstart My Heart" by Motley Crue and "Paradise City" by Guns n' Roses. Smiley

Tom Cochrane - Life is a Highway....definetly a requirement for road trip music.

I'm a big queen fan, but I can't think of any good singles to throw on a cd.  I'd like to use some lesser known songs (Bohemian Rhapsody is AWESOME, but overplayer).  Maybe Fat-Bottom Girls?

I'll check out some Abba songs....haven't listened to much aside from dancing queen.

Anna, those are definetly some classics ....I'm thinking about wipeout for when we hit the beachfront.  Beach Boys 409 as well.

Thanks for all the imput guys!

One time, my husband and I took a road trip to Vegas. We were traveling through Utah with the B-52's Love Shack blaring (and we were acting slightly goofy  Roll Eyes ) and we were pulled over... Tongue going 88 in a 75 zone!  Roll Eyes
Very up beat song, just don't get pulled over!  Especially in Utah!!!  Angry ROFL!

Mr. E's Beautiful Blues - The Eels

From the movie 'Road Trip' (as in 'god damn right it's a beautiful day')
