The first seller told the second seller to remove the photo. However, the second seller didn't remove it -- she used PhotoShop or some other program to remove the lettering on the trophy plate.  It's great that the card is still sealed in the box, but IMHO for the money that it will sell, I'd like to see what I'm buying. |

I asked the seller about the card, I got a reply back in which she wrote:
Sorry about the confusion. The picture I used was an example of what the Trophy card looks like. It is not the exact one the you could win. The one in the auction is in a MINT sealed box and the engraving is unknown until the box is opened by the winning bidder. These cards came in a white sealed box. I chose not to open it up because it is worth more to sell it that way. I took the confusing picture off and close the auction in order to do so. I just relisted the item with a new picture that doesn't show any engraving with a better explaination that there is an engraving on the trophy card in the auction but it is unknow which kind until the box is opened. Please let me know if you have anymore questions. Thank you.
I don't think the seller really meant any harm in the listing, probably didn't realize how critical some of us collectors are about the listings. If you check the feedback profile she's mainly a buyer not a seller.

I think you're right. But, we were also right to question it, because we've all seen a lot of scams on eBay and one of the warning signs is when a seller steals a photo from another seller or online source (like here). If I'm not mistaken, this seller had two trophy boxes, one she opened and one that's up for auction. If she has her own card, she should have photographed or scanned it to use as an example in her auction. She may have removed the lettering, but she's still using someone else's photo. |

The seller has now updated the description of the new listing:
On Jul-27-06 at 06:01:05 PDT, seller added the following information:
I have received many emails that bidders want to know exactly what is on the trophy card, so it has lead me to open up the box. The card that I have has "BEST Performance" engraved on it. I have updated my picture to show you the EXACT card you will be getting, but now I can't say that the card comes from an unopended white box from artbox. However, this card is still MINT and untouched since it is in a hard plastic clear card case that I did not open. I hope this helps everyone who is interested in bidding on this item. Thank you. And if you have any further questions please let me know.
So the box is now open and the trophy plate says "BEST Performance" on it.

Just so you all know... I have three of these cards... two of them are exactly the same... same
writing on them. The writing is not engraved... it is a foil sticker. I have one that is blank, but
the plaque is different than any of the other ones I have seen on Ebay or in person at the show.
I just put up one of the cards on ebay... it is the one with the roman numerials on it... I have two like
that... It is hard to get a picture of it... I'm leaving it sealed in the arylic case... and those do
not photograph well.... and because I suck a photography when it comes to irregular situations
where an experienced photographer is needed... like when taking a picture of a shiny object.

I think the seller will definitely get more money for the card now. Knowing it is a sticker, I think I would rather have one with no writing on it, but with a different shape and cut out. Not that I will ever have one  |

everyone I saw at the show had a sticker or nothing on it.
You have to remember, this trophy is nothing but a background prop so not as much detail is put into it. Even when you watch the film is is pretty hard to spot and there is definetly never a close shot of it

I had emailed the seller after she responded to my first question and explained to her that most of us want to see the card itself before we bid on it since it is an item that will go for over $500 easily. Told her that wether the box had been opened or not would not effect the bidding, it might actually prevent some from bidding causing it to go for a lower amount than the other trophy cards on auction. I told her that I personally would be less likely to bid on her card because i want to know what the card is that I'm getting for a price of over $500. This was enough to prompt her to open the box and post a picture of the actual card . I know there are alot of scams out there but I really wouldn't be to hard on her, I think she made an honest mistake. I've been guilty in the past of using other auction photos for my own.  . That was before I realized the significance of the actual card and the variant issues. and at the time i didn't have a digital camera or scanner. Anyway I'm more likely to bid on this auction now.  |

A foil sticker? Well that makes me a lot less tempted to buy one... Remember that this was a PROP. It was meant to be photographed by a movie camera through a glass case. Perhaps some props are lees costly to make with foil. The orginal purpose was to convey an illusion, not to be made into trading cards. Real engraving would cost movie tickets to go to $15.00 and popcorn to $20.00.  |

I'm a little bit disappointed of this card and the fact of the missing numbering which would be much better than a certificate. And it seems that i have to pay much more money than i was planning to pay. :'( But that's the game, i think. So if i win one card, i'll take the money from any next series and will order one case less. |

Ok Yak's...............First  purchase for one of these 31 count Trophy cards goes to a Yak !!!!! MEWas not going to bid but talked myself into it..all this talk of not being numbered was starting to sink in, but not that long ago I paid over $700 for a signed Quad..and they are not numbered either, picked it up for $661.76.(DON'T KNOW IF THAT WAS GOOD OR BAD YET).it was a blank one but different design than all the others being offered right now and if i get silly put my own sticker on it (I haven't the foggiest reason why I'd want to) will post a proper scan when I get in hand...... back and front........................Now in debt.......
