How thick are cards in points?
«

I keep seeing card holders etc. saying that they will hold a 100 point card
How thick is a normal card?
How do you work it out?
Is it a calculation or measurement?
Can someone please help me I'm baffled!
Sorry if this has been done else where but I couldn't find it.

Try the pro-mold site...
http://www.pro-mold.com/QandAoftheMonth.htm
I can put film cards & most of the Inkworks pieceworks cards in 55 pt, most of the Rittenhouse costume cards in 75 pt, and most of the dual/double costume cards in 120 pt

Pro-mold doesn't carry 100 point One-screw down cases

One point is .001 inches. So 100 points is .1 inch. Etc.
A point is a measure of paper thickness.
There is a thread with a list of card thicknessess listed.

Thanks for the help everyone!!
I was just a bit stuck what with the massively thick brick road cards in the WOZ collection etc
I didn't know how thick they were to order screwdowns etc.
PS How do you then keep them with the rest of the set, I've been thinking of just putting them in 4 view pockets, but if anyone has a better idea I'd love to here about it.

Are you storing your cards in an album? If so, you'll need a four-pocket page. It's okay if you store your binders upright, but if you store them with the spines up, the screwdowns can fall out of the pages. I think Anna uses archival-quality double-sided tape to seal the pockets.
The only other thing I can think of is a pencil case that has holes to fit onto the one or two rings. They're made of fabric or plastic and kids use them in their binders. They aren't archival safe, but there's either a zipper or a snap that will keep the screwdown tucked inside.

I have my WOZ Brick cards in Pro-Mold 180 pt screw-down cases. The cases are like "bricks" themselves and I keep them in 4-pocket pages.
