Hi All,    I'm just wandereing where I might be able to get a magazine/s on non-sport trading cards and any titles of magazines that members buy and read,just be nice to read and get more info on future sets while im at home. Cheers Paul |

I don't think there is any UK based Trading Cards Mag's.
You could try your local Forbidden Planet or Sci-Fi Warehouse but I would say your best bet is the NSU mag which can be bought from inside the UK from eBay or tradingcards247.com (I think thats the right address) or NSU directly

There was a Magazine in the Uk for a short time it was called TCW trading card world I subsribed to it but it was withdrawn only a few months in to it's run  it was mostly CCG cards but it was quite good but I liked it shame it had to end |

NSU is ok but they are slow and they have withdrawn most of the UK sets that are made, (including CSI). You can get it at Borders book shops but they have a habit of removing the free promos before they sell the mag. Your best bet is to have it ordered in by WHSmiths or buy it directly from NSU

Because they are made in the UK and they cant see past that fact. If it's not from the USA they tend to drop it. This includes almost all of Strictly Inks products. They left CSI 1 in but have not added 2 or Miami and they are not going to add the new sets. They also dropped the Avengers and several others. I think Barrie must have pissed them off somehow.

The main problem with NSU is there is only so much space in the price guide & no more.... If you see something that needs to be corrected in the price guide there's a form you can fill out that'll go straight to Bill (the main person working on the price guide). Why there are some titles that have yet to be changed after two issues even after submitting them, I don't know.

I can understand that, but a set like CSI is current. The three shows have had or will have new sets issued this year. I'm just surprised those sets wouldn't be included, that's all. |

No clue.... it may have something to do with the fact that it's a UK only license, but that's just a wild guess.... I still need some of the Vegas auto cards, but keep forgetting about the sets... |

running the Mag is hard work and I guess they run short of time now and again. The fact is they dropped the UK stuff very quickly for "space" reasons but if we are honest there is more than enough space for another 10 sets in there... While the CSI cards are for the UK we all know they ship to the US and the new ones will be a world wide release... there is more to this story than we have been told, of that I have no doubt.
btw drop me a line on the CSI cards your after I have TONS of them lol

You have got to be kidding. Only 10 UK sets, or only 10 UK sets that YOU want included? There are many, many UK and Australian sets that could be included, if NSU didn't bother putting in things like ARTICLES.
NSU does the best they can with the space they have. The space they have is determined by the number of ads they can sell, and the number of copies they can sell. They sell more, they can include more pages.
But, were it up to me, I'd have them drop the entire price guide. I've NEVER used it - if I need to determine a "value" for something, I can check eBay prices or, god forbid, use my own judgement!!! Shocking I know, but I'm just that way...

I've never used the guide either - partly because it's not that widely available here in the UK and mostly because the prices given are not paticularly realistic when you come to buy the cards on ebay.

And when it's in their favor some buyers do too... I had one person try to pressure me into selling something to them for WAY less than I believe it's worth because they saw it in a price guide. For all I know it was a very out-of-date Beckett guide. I refrained from continuing that dialogue... I personally try to use an average of NSU + recent ebay sales. |
