I'm having a problem with an eBay win from comixunlimited, and I'm wondering if anyone here has dealt with him before.  I won a Wilkinson Gimli sketch from him on April 26 and still don't have the card.  I've sent him a slew of email, yet he's accused me of not responding to his email (all done through eBay, so I have proof of my replies) and he's changed his story more than once.  First, he told me he made a mistake and didn't ship it.  Then, he said he got me mixed up with a different Wilkinson sketch and marked mine as being shipped, adding that my card would go out that night.  I got another email a week later asking if I'd received it yet.  When I replied yesterday that I hadn't, he said they may not have shipped it at all and maybe they even sent it to someone else! Hopping Mad

I feel like I'm going in circles and getting very frustrated with this seller.  He offered a refund and I'll take it if I have to, but really, I just want the damn card.  It was a really nice sketch and I'll never find another one at that price. Undecided

Of course, I also have to wonder if someone else made him an offer for the card that was higher than my winning bid.  Nope, I'm not at all a happy camper.

*sigh* I feel for you - sketches are not like autos where one auto is usually the same as another. I don't have any real advice for you - I don't know the seller, but the story that keeps changing is usually a red flag to me that he's being dishonest. Sorry Sad

Actually with the Wilkinson Gimli sketches most of the ones I've seen are very similar to each other.  Of course, that's totally beside the point....

Even so - I had a pair of Teranishi twins (virtually identical sketches) and I was still able to pick a favorite from among them and trade off the other - the differences, although subtle, are there, and unless the guy is actually going to produce a Wilkinson Gimli sketch, kbmum is still out Sad

I know we're only talking about trading cards, but I could cry.  I was so darn close to completing my 9-card Fellowship set. :'(

I've never dealt with this seller, but it does sound fishy that he keeps changing his story. Roll Eyes  Since you've covered yourself by only communicating using eBay messages, you shouldn't have any problems getting a refund from him.  I'd want the sketch over getting a refund also, especially since you're so close to completing your Fellowship set.

I told him I wanted the card over getting a refund, but every day that goes by with no card makes this less likely. Hopping Mad

This is probably a silly question but if the seller says he sent your card to someone else, surely he would have that persons card laying around at home  Huh  I know you don't want that card but at the very least he should know who he sent your card to by looking at what he hasn't sent out yet  - does that make sense?  Sorry I am not explaining this very well but I know what I mean, honest  Smiley

That makes sense.  There should be a leftover sketch and it wouldn't hurt for the seller to contact the other buyers from that period and ask if they received it.

The sketch has not turned up, not that I expected it to.  A refund is currently being processed, with this note from the seller:

Well, you said wait one week, one week is up. its not back here. And, it did not show up. I dont know what to tell you. I dont think it was shipped becouse i dont have a tracking number, but they swear it went out. Oh well, as per agreement, refund inc.

Oh well?  Not "oh well!"  Obviously, he doesn't give a damn, but it's a big deal to me, as it would be to any other buyer. While I'm glad to get my money back, I am still very, very angry about this.

That's just complete & utter bull...  If you don't remember shipping it, but "they" swear it went out, then whose fault is it?  I say the fault is entirely on the seller.  Honestly, after hearing all this I wouldn't be surprised AT ALL to see it pop up for sale again now that you're getting your refund...

I doubt it... I think somewhere, someone else is quietly enjoying that card already Sad

And not feeling a bit of guilt over it, either. Angry  It better not show up on eBay.  I've saved the scan and if I see it up for auction, I will contact eBay.

This seller sounds totally unreliable (major understatement). Roll Eyes  I'm never going to bid on any of his auctions since he's caused you so much grief, it just isn't worth the hassle. Tongue

Here's a scan of the sketch.  The artist did more than one of these, but there are subtle differences.  I know we've had good luck on the Shack tracking down other lost cards (remember the HP case incentives?).

I'll keep my eyes peeled for it.  I was the one that spotted the HP incentive, so if this one ever shows up on eBay, I'm sure I'll spot it too. Smiley

You have another pair of eyes on the case - well actually two because me and Boggy will keep a very close check on Ebay to see if it shows up  Smiley.  Although to be fair if it does ever surface on Ebay I know Anna will spot it first  Grin.
