HOLY COW!!! Did I miss something?
I was watching this auction because it's the last auto I need for SS
and I was planning on bidding, but....

It's funny houw the winning bidder bid so high to start with, considering the card isn't that rare to start with. Not compared to others in the set.

Well, to be honest it is actually a pretty rare card, it's just not popular enough to usually command a high price.
It's as rare as Harry's parents autos

I opened 20+ cases and only found
one
of his autograph cards. I pulled about 5 of each parent. So, this card is a hard one to find.
Or else, I'm really unlucky, as in Ron with GOF, zero in 21 cases.

Well it's all down to breaks, my statement about it being as rare as Harry's parents was based upon Jeff Allender's detective work from all posted breaks on here and Card Talk combined, but as you say it was probably less than 20% of the print run so it's not an exact science
