Who did the sketches for the Shrek 2 hobby boxes from Comic Images? I've been looking at some of the sketches and boxes, but can't find artist info anywhere.

I always got the impression that they were done by someone on the inside of making Shrek 2. I don't know why. It might be worth asking Tom as I'm pretty sure he still has some

I sent an email to Comic Images, which is probably what I should have done in the first place.

Comic Images said that the sketches were drawn by Dreamworks animators, but the company didn't specify which ones. CI suggested I contact Dreamworks. That's fine, but if Dreamworks wouldn't give the names to CI, why would the company give them to me?

Maybe Cards Inc didn't ask Dreamworks as they didn't want to put collectors off by saying "This card was hand drawn by Peter Smith" and then collectors saying "Who's he, the card mustn't be worth anything as that guy isn't famous" Just my thoughts

No no - I thought it was odd that Comic Images would tell HER to go ask them instead of trying to find out for her. It's not reasonable to assume that any average person could just call up Dreamworks studio and say "Hi! Who did the sketch cards for the Shrek trading cards please". One could assume that CI would have a studio contact they could ask, but to have the collector do the work for them seemed odd... Just my opinion that's currently worth about 1 cent

What surprises me is that people have blindly collected them and never asked this question before

To be honest, some of the sketches aren't very good, so I wanted to know who did them.

Funny you should mention that ... when I heard that they would be getting sketches in as needed, rather than having them all prior to release, I, the Sketchqueen, made the decision NOT to collect them. I've thought and re-thought about that decision, but between the inconsistancy in sketches, the feeling that some characters were given to certain dealers and not to the public AND the not knowing who drew them, makes me not regret my decision.
