Wow - I am sorry but you have to have a few brain cells missing to spend that kind of money for a piece of cardboard.  Heck for the money that person spent you could have an outstanding 3+ week vacation in Hawaii and those memories will last you a lifetime!!   Smiley  Put that against placing Peter Jackson in an albumn or plastic prison - how many times are you going to look at it?  Heck if you have that kind of money to throw around why not do something good with it to help people or animals for crying out loud!!

Yea Roz especially when we have his Two Towers Auto card!  I will bet those will climb up in value as well.  If you don't have one folks try and get one before they too get out of reach.

Another one went for $600 buy it now!

These buy it nows are NO indication of what people think it's worth - it just shows one person is mad enough to pay it!

Wait for it to settle folks!

You already sold all your LOTR cards it would be silly to get into it but if I were you I'd probably sell my boxes... with so many sets and a trilogy set to come I don't see these rising in price much especially as they are produced in such great bulk these days. That's why the cards rarely exceed the price of a box

Insanity... that is almost around FOTR Merry range. I agree Ed that for $1500 I  would rather spend it on something more worthwhile. Has anyone done the maths and worked out how many cards PJ would have signed?

Hey FTY:

I don't know what the print run was so I don't know how to figure it out.  Peter Jackson must have signed a much smaller card lot than the rest to get those odds.

Still... $1500. For me, no card is worth that amount. I suppose a Daniel Radcliffe /30 might do it though Wink

Can you imagine??? Shocked

Sometimes we seem to forget it's only paper and ink... I'd change my views on the "paper and ink" issue though if it was an Alan Lee sketch card  Smiley

Yea both Alan Lee and John Howe are super LOTR's artists and their original artwork if done on a sketchcard would be quite valuable.  Alas I do not think this will happen as no one at Topps has that king of foresight.   :'(
