Hi everyone.  I've been reading plenty of messages but this my first post.  I have casually collected most of the previous HP card sets.  I would like to buy my first sealed box but am wondering about strategy.  Is it a better idea to start with a current or upcoming set like MM or pick up a box of an older (and cheaper) set such as SS or POA?  Thanks for all the awesome information on the board. Hi Aiden!  Welcome to the world of box collecting..... Cheesy I have this feeling one box will become two, and two will become three...until a case gets ordered  Tongue I swore it would never happen to me...and yet, it did Roll Eyes

As for your question, this is really up to you.  I say, get a box of MM AND one from an older set ROFL!  If there is a particular set you love all the inserts in, go for that one.  But in the end, they are all lovely choices, IMO Wink

I wouldn't buy POA and POAU boxes. The chance is too bad to get inserts which are worth the price of the box. SS, GOF and GOFU are a better choice IMO. Smiley

Hi!  Thanks for the answers.  I have a feeling that you're right - I can see myself going entirely round the bend here really.  So now my quest will be to look around online and find sources for boxes aside from ebay.  I can't even find retail packs in most of the local stores.  I hope to be an active participant on the forum and I'll keep you all up-to-date on anything I am able to find.  One warning though - I hope that I don't anoy everyone with my excitement over the small things.  Here's to great things to come! Praying

Over the small things?  Nothing here is too small Wink  We won't think you are annoying, as long as you don't think we are too ROFL!

Aiden - you might already know this, but you need to be looking for Hobby boxes, not the Retail versions.
The Hobby boxes have the inserts (costumes/autos/props/film cells) whereas the retail boxes normally have base cards with some of the chase foils in them.
Check the auction descriptions really carefully, especially if the price looks too good to be true, cos there's every chance it's a retail box up for sale. Wink
Welcome to the Forum too! Grin

Rich - with the way stuff is trickling through UK Customs at the moment (or not  trickling through would be more like it! Sad), then the end of September might be wishful thinking for this set to hit UK shores! Undecided

If you are talking about the release date for Memorable Moments, the release date has been pushed back until October.  Sad  Unless there is something I haven't heard, I think it is still October, not sooner.   Tongue  Is that still right?  Huh

Yeah I thought that as well, but one of the regular posters on NSU had posted saying 16th of September didnt say where he had heard that from though.
Personally my bet will be on October for the US and early November for us Brits.
Just a shame October is so overloaded with good sets. The shack will be buzzing to the tune of all the fantastic finds.

Do you mean 16th Sept or 16th Aug? As you have different dates in different posts  Undecided

It was Raj on NSU (isnt he a member on here) definately says the cards are due the 16th of september.
Somehow I dont think so but I would like a september release date. Just from a cash flow perspective with Avengers and LOTR in October.

I can't imagine the set will be released in September.   Undecided Still think it will be an October release, which isn't really that far off now, really...ok, I'm trying to convince myself of that.   Roll Eyes Much too impatient.  Roll Eyes

Unless they move really fast, I kinda thought that Artbox had quite a few in-tact Harry items displayed at the SDCC.  I don't know that they would have been able to break everything down this quickly, then produce the cards, then pack the boxes... Huh I just don't know.

you can alway ask Tomunique. He's one of Artbox's largest distributor's. If anyone can find out a definate date it's him.

There are no sketch cards.  I think Chris thought this was the LOTR Masterpieces thread. Smiley
