British Telecom are putting out warnings about yet another way to con the UK public out of money
Apparently a card from a fictitious courier firm is being put through peoples doors saying they tried to deliver a parcel but you were out. It then asks you to ring the number on the card to arrange a new delivery time. However no parcel exists and just by dialing this number you will charged anything up to £15.00. This is a difficult one to spot as we all receive so many parcels - the firms name changes and so does the number to call so you can't look out for it this way.
What amazes me is that if BT know it is a rip off why don't they just disconnect the numbers
There must be some common denominator that they can identify and bar these people from the premium numbers.
