Seeing them en masse gives everyone a better idea of the variety of artistic styles for this set - how many more boxes/case have you left to crack open Dave?
You have some super cards in those last batches .... and you're right, the full-colour Frodo has to be my all-time fave out of all that I've seen! Kiss
*wanders off wondering if Dave would notice me coming over to his place and purloining said card* Evil Wink

Unfortunately I think that is it for me.  I am not willing to test my luck at current prices.  I have some more to post.  I haven't posted any pictures for my breaks for about a week.  I am trying to ration them for you guys I still have some to post.

Dave you continue to amaze me!   Smiley   What wonderful pulls!    Smiley   Love that Aragorn sketch!   Wink

Hi Bush360:

You are also among friends of LOST here as well!!   Smiley    Which LOTR's sketch cards did you keep for yourself?

Hi Savage I have kept the Jake Myler Frodo the Gandalf by Cat and a Gollum by teranishi they were my favorite characters in the films so to have one sketch of each was cool.

I just wanted to let everyone know that my latest aftermarket will be listed on Ebay this evening. It's painted entirely with acrylic, with colored pencil and ink for details.

1. So...there are some 19,200 sketch cards out there if you add up the #'s on the LOTR Sketch card site...
2. If these cards are seeded 1 sketch card in every 14 packs, then there would have to be about 268,800 packs (14x19,200)
to cover that 1 in 14 ratio...
3. There are 24 packs in every box...so there are 11,200 boxes floating around Middle Earth...(268,800/24)...
4. With 8 boxes a case, 1400 preciousssssssss cases are filled with these sketch cards...
5. Rafael Kayanan created 250 sketch cards...that means...on average...there should be 1 Kayanan every 5.5 cases...
Dave Dorman, Scott Erwert, and William O'Neill also made
250 pieces...so the same odds apply...1 in every 5.5 cases
6. Cat Staggs, Amy Pronovost, Dan Parsons, Robert Teranishi, Brian Rood and Jake Myler...in the 500 cards range...so twice as frequently...or 1 in every 2.8 boxes...
7. The 1000+ contributors...Fabbri, Frampton, Gutierrez, Hodges, Hodgkins, Martinez, Shum, Vecchia and Woodside...1 every 1.4 boxes...and that's why you get at least one of every one of these artists in each case!...or more!
8. Under 250...do the Math... thus the very high prices for the very rare sketch card artists! Those artists include...Matt Busch, Joe Corroney, Jan Duursema, Mike Lilly, Rich Molinelli, and Monte Moore.
9. The rarest of the rare...those artists with only 100 sketch cards + the 6 returned by Topps to give them a total of 106 cards...those odds are 1 in every 13.2 cases and include the artists...Ryan Benjamin, Chris Eliopoulos, and Jeff Zapata.
Gabriel Hernandez and Mary Mitchell have no numbers posted as of yet...but judging by what's out there, they also must be in the 106-150 range.
10. So...here are the odds for each artist (IF 1400 CASES EXIST)
Ryan Benjamin - 1 in 13.2 cases
Joseph Booth - 1 in 3.92 cases
Dennis Budd - 1 in 6.8 cases
Matt Busch - 1 in 8.97 cases
Jeff Chandler - 1 in 4.66 cases
Justin Chang - 1 in 10.77 cases
Joe Corroney - 1 in 8.97 cases
Cynthia Cummens - 1 in 3.93 cases
Renae DeLiz - 1 in 6.8 cases
Ray Dillon - 1 in 4.57 cases
Dave Dorman - 1 in 5.47
Michael Duron - 1 in 6.8 cases
Jan Duursema - 1 in 8.97 cases
Chris Eliopoulos - 1 in 13.2 cases
Scott Erwert - 1 in 5.47 cases
Davide Fabbri - 1 in 1.39 cases
Otis Frampton - 1 in 1.39 cases
Grant Gould - 1 in 6.8 cases
Paul Gutierrez - 1 in 1.39 cases
Gabriel Hernandez - Huh if 106 then 1 in 13.2 case...?
Thomas Hodges - 1 in 1.39 cases
James Hodgkins - 1 in 1.39 cases
Rafael Kayanan - 1 in 5.47 cases
Mike Lilly - 1 in 8.97 cases
Tom Mandrake - 1 in 2.8 cases
Randy Martinez - 1 in 1.39 cases
John McRae - 1 in 3.45 cases
Mary Mitchell - Huh? if 106 the 1 in every 13.2 cases ?
Rich Molinelli - 1 in 8.97 cases
Monte Moore - 1 in 8.97 cases
Jake Myler - 1 in 2.8 cases
Dan Norton - 1 in 4.56 cases
William O'Neill - 1 in 5.47 cases
Dan Parsons - 1 in 2.8 cases
Amy Pronovost - 1 in 2.8 cases
David Rabbitte - 1 in 6.8 cases
Juan Carlos Ramos - 1 in 6.8 cases
Brian Rood - 1 in 2.8 cases
Howard Shum - 1 in 1.39 cases
Allison Sohn - 1 in 6.8 cases
Cat Staggs - 1 in 2.8 cases
Robert Teranishi - 1 in 2.31 cases
Christian Della Vecchia - 1 in 1.39 cases
Russ Walks - 1 in 6.8 cases
Sarah Wilkinson - 1 in 4.58 cases
Brent Woodside - 1 in 1.39 cases
Jeff Zapata - 1 in 13.2 cases
That's assuming the 1:14 ratio provided by Topps and assuming that Gabriel Hernandez and Mary Mitchell had 106 cards each.
So...this is a 'more or less' breakdown.
QUALITY RULES THOUGH...and the recent prices of Rafael Kayanan and Cat Staggs, as well as others...really set the precendent for future second and third market values. Ebay!

Well I think that won't happen as my opening is done at what the prices have been for the last week or two.  Cat I love your ring card!  It was interesting that the Gandalf and the Frodo color were both in the same case.  The box with the Gandalf did not have the Topps security wrap on it, but it was in the middle of the case.  I thought should I send it to Topps for replacement?  Has it been tampered with?  I thought what the heck I might as well open it since it was in the middle and they might not even replace it anyway.  Glad I opened it!
