How will they have a costume from the 5th movie by March ??! It starts filming in February, so it's possible Artbox could have a costume. Maybe they'll get "material used in the making of," though. Any word on a price? Nine different sets -- Would that be GOFU, COS, plus seven trunk sets?

Rumours around $50. It could be a costume used in the making of. I think it's unlikely they'll be sure that they don't need to do any re-takes only by March!! I'd say they'd need the costume at Artbox by Feb

This is one more chance for Artbox to rectify a major oversight with both POA sets and finally produce a Sirius costume. After all, how can you have a "Prisoner of Azkaban" set and not have a costume card for the "Prisoner?" Five costume cards for $50 sounds like a good deal.

I do agree completely with you Cindy, as I have complaints about many of Artbox's oversights. But I think in the case of Sirius, a character who wore the same costume throughout the film, Artbox may be justified in excluding a costume card. It is possible that Sirius's costume (and by all appearences their was a singular costume) was not put up for auction by Warner Brothers. This would seem reasonable if the company planned on using the costume in flashback scenes in future films. I am just assuming that if Warner Brothers did not put the costume up for auction, for whatever reason, then Artbox would have no chance of obtaining it. Now if Artbox was unable to contract Gary Oldman to sign Autograph cards, then I would have some major grievences. But perhaps this is the best that Artbox was able to do as far as including 'Prisoner' memorabilia. But if so, then that begs the question.....why produce two PRISONER of Azkaban sets?/?/

If they are choosing one costume card for each movie, I would hope that each is extremely significant. Not another, random student robe number 258. Apparently they have 9 different sets planned for this year - looks like they are going to flood us with different sets!
I can't imagine how they will put together 9 different sets without comprimising quality. Let me think- 1. GoFU 2. CoS 3. SS Wooden set (is it possible that these wooden sets are included within the 9?) 4. CoS Wooden set 5. The set described above limited to 1000 with 5 costume cards Then what could they possibly do to make FOUR more sets??? Perhaps....they plan to release several more of these limited to 1000 sets. Other sets could contain 5 prop peices or 5 autographs, one from each movie. Just a thought....

The 9 different sets could be GoFU This Trunk set Gof Trunk Set CoS CoS Trunk Set PoA Trunk SS Trunk Set and 2 other ones currently with no information. That does seem like to much to bring out right now

Although this trunk set sounds interesting and the fact that it is limited to 1000 sets could create a "need to get it" frenzy we should proceed with caution until more info is released. It all depends on the costumes they put in it. It could be 5 robe cards that are just rehashed and #'d to 1000. To me that wouldn't be very exciting. We know that they can produce at least 2900 pieces out of some costumes (like the Lupin jacket from POAU). Of course some are likely smaller than that, but some of the costumes already used can probably be rehashed and have plenty of material left for 1000 cards. If Artbox is like sportscard companies they always figure out a way to use all the material to maximize the return on investment. The costumes are like money just sitting there. I will probably make sure I get one, but I am a little concerned that it will be repeat material, just packaged in a new pretty set. Put some lipstick on that pig After that buffy collection wooden coffin set (I think that is what it was called) Inkworks did That was a big overpriced piece of wooden crap IMO. And I think they hyped it by saying there was only going to be 399 of them or something like that. Of course there weren't any costume cards, so that could make a big difference and the Buffy thing was like $299 I think so it isn't a very good comparison

I'm also a little worried it will be old costumes pieces. But, I still want to know which 5 they will use. There are about a dozen characters in each movie so there is a few costumes to chose from...the only problem will be which ones

I don't think so. I don't think there are 1000 hardcore collectors out there. Otherwise the /95 props from GoF would be worth more. I think it should do ok because 1000 isn't a vast number, but I don't think they'll be in short supply

Nine releases in one year is more than my wallet can bear. If Artbox goes through with this, I'll be waiting as long as possible before pre-ordering anything (even the GOFU and COS releases), hoping to get as much info as possible so I can best decide where my "card money" should be spent.

I'm with you on this one. If Artbox release more sets then they won't instantly have more collectors, and most of us won't be able to spend any more money on cards than we would do otherwise. It will just be that the same money will have to stretch further. I fear another PoAU (too much all at once) fiasco coming on - that incident put off collectors in their droves, (I know people who say that they "got bored" with Potter at the PoAU stage).
I still think they need to tread carefully and diversify - at the moment the only strong license they have is Potter, Doom was a bit 'doomed' from the start - a license like that won't take off unless you bother to tell people what's in it - get them interested and on board early on. There were too many other interesting sets to collect at that time and because people hadn't heard about it - people hadn't budgetted for it.
Even though Potter is strong, it still needs careful nurturing after the PoA disaster. It was a great looking set, but the cards were spread too thinly and were too mass produced. Boxes sell in the UK for LESS THAN HALF THE WHOLESALE (25 cases plus) PRICE.

I think it will be nice, especially since ach will have 5 costumes, but we really do need more info. I think this, GOFu, and COS would be plenty for one year. Otherwise, I, like Cindy, will be waiting to get as much info as possible before placing pre-orders. This will not make me spend more money...I can't. So instead, I take my money and put it where I want it.

Dumb question, but did they say 9 Potter sets this year? Or just 9 sets?
Couple of them could easily be other licences.....

According to the upcoming release section at NSU, Artbox will have 13 different releases in 2006, including 5 HP sets, Zorro, Frankenstein, Corpse Bride, and Dracula. The five HP sets listed are: GOFU, Sorcerer's Stone wooden box set, Chamber of Secrets wooden box set, Chamber of Secrets (regular set), and literary art set (foil packs).
