Stargate SG1 and Atlantis-Anyone else watching

I am back with some exciting news on Stargate Atlantis, but first thanks for the comment for my mom and the job hunt. My mom had her surgery on Wednesday and is on her way home today (Thursday) as I post this to you so everything went great on that front as for the job hunt it still goes on  :'( Now onto the Atlantis news 

They leaked the premiere episode somehow and people downloaded and posted it on You Tube  I just hope it doesn't hurt the ratings when the episode actually premieres because the creators are up to there shenanigans again with wanted to get Stargate Universe out there and are whining it is to hard to do two shows at once 

Okay enough of that back to the fun  I wasn't going to watch it because I wanted to patiently wait for the premiere but what can I say I am weak when it come to Stargate so I put up You Tube and watched "Search and Rescue". I can say this much I am even now more excited for the premiere on Sci Fi because the screen is much bigger and easier to view 

Now onto my review of Stargate Atlantis's season 5 Premiere episode "Search and Rescue"

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD...READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

It starts out a little weird because I have no idea what to think of Sheppard's dream. There was a really nice surprise guest in it but there was also a little to much of a conversation between Teyla and him that I am still having trouble with  Anyway you find out that Sheppard and Ronon are trapped together while McKay and Lorne are also trapped together under the rubble. A soldier escapes the explosion that happened in part one and gets beck to the gate and to Atlantis to inform Atlantis of there predicament. Carter gets a team together and sets out for a search and rescue of her people.

When they get there they realize time is of the essence because Michael the Wraith found out his place has been compromised and is on his way to check it out. They manage to finally get everyone out of there but now they have to figure a way to rescue Teyla who is on Michaels cruiser.

McKay figures a brilliant way to do it as usual  (I just love Mckay) and they are off to rescue Teyla. John and Ronon have to go blow up a piece of the ship that will keep Michael from escaping while McKay stays with Teyla who is in labor with her baby. I loved watching McKay try and buck it up and get prepared for helping Teyla deliver her baby especially when she told him he would have to catch the baby when it came out 

As you can guess the rescue is a success and Teyla gives birth to her baby and they all get back to Atlantis safely. Sadly they didn't get to kill Michael so I regret we may have to suffer with more kidnap attempts of Teyla's child in the season  I just have my fingers crossed this child doesn't end up being the savior of the universe because we have been there and we have done that  May it be just another sweet little innocent baby with no super powers 

Finally onto the best part about this whole episode. Carter is gone she is no longer in command of the Atlantis expedition  I love it but I am a little worried about Woolsey now being in charge because of all the screw ups he made on SG1. I guess only time will tell and we will just have to wait and see how he does.

Before I post this there is one more thing about the episode I have to get off my chest. Enough with picking on McKay already I am getting sick and tired of him getting the brunt of the cruel jokes that may seem funny to some viewers but are not to his fans at least not this fan  I thought it was mean of Carter to tease Rodney and telling him Teyla was naming her baby after him then telling him after seeing the excitement on his face that she was just kidding. While I don't mind the funny jokes with him involved I notice that they like to make a little to many rather mean ones with him also that to me are not that funny 

ONLY TWO MORE WEEKS UNTIL THE ACTUAL PREMIERE OF STARGATE ATLANTIS SEASON FIVE!!!

Thank the gods no more Carter then    I dont mind Woolsey actualy I quite like him LOL  and I also am a fan of Rodney, the charecter is no fool or coward as he has proven time and time  again.
How is your mum doing Wendi? and still got fingers crossed for you on the job front

On the news of my mom she is doing fine and is looking forward to getting rid of the really big splint they have on her leg and going into a cast. We are trying to get her to see if they will give her a pink cast since she loves pink so much  The job hunt on the other hand  :'(


Onto some sad Stargate news  :'( :'( :'(

I sadly am reporting that Don S. Davis has passed away on June 29, 2008, he was only 65 years old.

His wife Ruby and his representatives had this to say to his fans and friends:

Dear Fans and Friends of Don S. Davis,

So many of you have been touched by not only the work and art of Don S. Davis, but by the man himself, who always took the time to be with you at the appearances he loved, that it is with a tremendous sense of loss I must share with you that Don passed away from a massive heart attack on Sunday morning, June 29th.

On behalf of his family and wife, Ruby, we thank you for your prayers and condolences. A family memorial where Don's ashes will be scattered in the ocean will take place in a few weeks, and should you wish to, please make a donation to the American Heart Association in Don's memory.

This is indeed sad news because General Hammond and Davis portrayal of him was one of the best things about Stargate SG1.

It is sad news about Don and it will be bittersweet when I get to see his final performance as General George Hammond when "Stargate Continuum" comes out July 29th. I have heard that this one like "Ark of Truth" was leaked out already on the internet to mixed reviews. I will save my opinion until I actually get to see it which will be probably a week or two after it is released depending on if I get it for my upcoming birthday or not 

Another release that just happened this Tuesday July 8th was Stargate Atlantis season 4. I can't wait to see the extra features but alas it will have to wait until I have more money in the bank before I can add it to my collection  I hate being out of a job  :'( My card collecting and other things are being sadly neglected in place of bills 

Now onto tonight's premiere 

As I said in the earlier post it was just as good as it was when I cheated and watched it on You Tube. It was also much better on the bigger screen because I could see everything more clearly without squinting.

I still don't know what to think of the beginning with John and Teyla but otherwise then that the episode was fast paced and exciting. I just loved McKay in this one and when he caught the baby  The best thing though is that Carter is gone and we will see how Woolsey does on his first day in Atlantis next week on the episode "The Seed" (now I know what they meant by poor Jewel Staite after seeing the previews  of that one ). Also Beckett is back for this one so I guess they wake him up from stasis 

One more gripe for the premiere, if the writers are going to have Teyla name her baby after her father you think they could at least go back to the Premiere in season one and see his name was Tagan and not Toran

20. The season finale and 100th episode  is not titled yet. I just hope they can't get Amanda Tapping to star in it like they want to because this is Atlantis's 100th episode not Carters or SG1's

Well I am back with some news and my review for the second episode of the season 

Stargate Atlantis got a 1.3 rating for the premiere episode, fingers crossed they keep that p or get even higher ratings so Sci Fi won't cancel the show after this season 

Atlantis also got nominated for a Emmy for it's Outstanding Visual Effects for a Series for the episode "Adrift" in season 4

Now onto the review:

"The Seed"

I am not sure what I think of this episode because it was good but not as good as the premiere was. I did love how Keller mentioned McKay going to talk to Beckett while he was in stasis then trying to pretend like he wasn't when she caught him. I am so crossing my fingers that Keller and McKay get each other again like they did in the finale of season 4. The one thing I did hate was Johns comment about seeing weirder things happen in the alternate timeline  he was in after answering one of the teams questions about it.   I didn't like how he kept looking at McKay like it was him and Keller being together that was the weirdest thing after all if it wasn't for McKay he would still be stuck in the future and dead by now. 

The episode starts with McKay and Sheppard greeting Woolsey when he arrives in Atlantis. McKay doesn't look happy but Sheppard just seems to takes it all  in stride. Woolsey tells them that he will call a staff meeting the next day after he reviews the reports for the last few weeks. I have to say that the jury is still out on Woolsey for me. He was able to leave the by the book roles in this episode when it was needed but he still seems a little to stiff so hopefully they will loosen him up in future episodes. They also brought Beckett out of stasis in this episode because Keller found a temporary cure for his problem while searching through the information McKay found on Michael back on the planet in the episode "Search and Rescue".

The episode was about how Keller got infected by one of Michaels experiments while on the planet rescuing the others from the collapsed building. You find out that everyone else that was on the planet was infected also but not as bad as Keller. She is slowly becoming what they believe is a Wraith Hive ship. They have make a decision quickly because it is slowly growing not only in Keller but throughout Atlantis as well. They have to make a decision about killing Keller by shooting drones at her in the isolation room or they have to find a cure and get it to her without getting killed themselves by the growing hive ship. Luckily Beckett finds a cure so they decide to test it on Sheppard first to make sure that it works since he is one of the ones infected. When they discover the cure does work Ronon attempts to get it to her but gets caught and nearly strangled by the plants so it is up to Sheppard who decides to fly a jumper through the building to get the cure to Keller.

Finally I have to say that all ends well but my one problem was how prominent McKay was in the beginning with everyone else then disappears all of a sudden near the end to never be seen again. I was hoping at least to see him say good bye to Beckett who was going back to earth

Your welcome and you get to see "Continuum" before me because it doesn't come out until the 29th here  I would love to hear your opinion on it and also I wouldn't mind a warning to watch out for any Sam/Jack ship because that is one thing I am really hoping is not in the movie  A little review would be greatly appreciated but no pressure

I think Bogleg picked his up at the London Film and Comic Con over the weekend. I watched the download two weeks ago and I've bought the Region 1 (shiny box) and ordered the Region 2.

I won't give much away but as far as Jack/Sam storyline, virtually not a second wasted on it. I will say this is much, much better than Ark of Truth which I thought was poor.

I heard about it being leaked on the internet a while back but I didn't check it out so I have to wait until it comes out here on DVD 

I love it that you said there is no Jack/Sam storyline, it makes me look even more excited for the release 

I liked "Ark of Truth", well I liked the Ori part of it I just wish they would have kept the replicator part of it out because in my opinion that is what ruined the movie. I just fast forward those parts when I watch it and stick to the Ori parts instead.

What I want to know about "Continuum"

1. Did it have a good storyline
2. was Vala and Teal'c in it enough
3. How did they handle Daniels problem (was there concern going on, I read spoilers so I won't give away what happens with him)
4. Do we have to suffer through the Cosmic Guideness that is Jack of late
5. Do they have any great Daniel/Vala scenes
6. Was there any Jack/Sam ship at all, even a little bit (I know broken record since this was already kindly answered by m.o.b /thank you by the way/ but those two ruined some great stories in seasons 4-8 because of the so called romance so I need to know and be forewarned)

Those are my burning questions

I just got finished watching the latest episode of Stargate Atlantis so I thought I would come in and give you my thoughts on it 

"Broken Ties"

I wasn't sure if I would like this episode because it was a Ronon centered one based on the previews last week and you know how I feel about Ronon 

Well I watched it and I have to say that it was pretty decent for what I thought it would end up being.

Woolsey is still doing a good job of running Atlantis in my opinion. I like how he is a by the book man but listens to the others when it is necessary, only time will tell if I continue liking him. I also loved his reaction to the doors not opening for him and his face when Teyla handed him her son. Speaking of Teyla I also liked how they handled her dilemma on whether or not to still go on missions or to stay on Atlantis with her son. That would be a decision any mother or father would hate to make and I thought they handled it very well.

This episode was basically about Ronon being captured by Tier who we last saw in the season four episode "Reunion". Tier turns Ronon over to the wraith in hopes that the wraith will accept him back in to the fold despite him allowing the team to escape in the before mentioned episode only to end up being betrayed by the wraith when they come to take Ronon and is himself left for dead by them. While all of this is happening the team is frantic and trying to find out were Tier could have taken Ronon and for what purpose. The team finds Tier on the planet the wraith left him on thanks to some intel they got but only to find that Ronon is not there with him. When they finally do find Ronon they have to figure out how not only how to save him but also themselves because Ronon was turned into a Wraith worshipper while he was captured. I know you can guess how this all turns out but I have to say for a Ronon episode I thought it was pretty good and I also loved the character moments we got because they are always the best ones for any show to me not to mention I loved the little montage at the end.

I do have to say this though, their was this one scene that was sweet and had me    and that was were Rodney comes into the mess hall were Sheppard is and states that he stayed up all night trying to find a way to figure out were Ronon was being held. The part I loved was when he told Sheppard he even took a bath to try and think because it relaxes him and gets his mind off of things to help him figure out a solution easier. The thing that cracked me up about it was when Mckay basically stated Sheppard should try it and Sheppard huridly said I am not taking a bath with you, it had me  When you see it for yourself you will see what I mean

Sorry it has taken me so long to write the review for the latest episode of Stargate Atlantis 

I finally was able to sit down Sunday night and actually watch it on my tape. I had a birthday party the night it was on and while I didn't get "Stargate: Continuum" for my birthday, I did however manage to get some other great presents like "Supernatural" season 4 and "Pushing Daisies" season 1  I will get "Continuum" another time and tell you my thoughts on it then 

Now onto my review for "The Daedalus Variations"

I have to say this was another great episode for Atlantis 

It starts with the team seeing the Daedalus in orbit above Atlantis but they know for a fact that the Daedalus should be halfway to earth by now. They contact the SGC and find out that their Daedalus is in fact on it's way back to earth so they decide to go and check out the one in there orbit to see what is going on because there was no life signs on board the one above them. When they board the ship to investigate a strange energy reading starts up that ends up spiking and transporting the team and the ship to an alternate universe. They keep jumping from universe to universe and they have to figure a way to get back to there reality or risk being trapped and dying on the ship since there are no supplies left on board. They also come across a new alien threat to an Atlantis in an other universe and have to fight them off.

I have to say that while this was a great episode I really don't care for the new aliens they made up and I hope they are not the next threat against our Atlantis. I prefer the replicators and wraith to these guys because the new ones remind me to much of ones I have seen on other shows then again maybe I will change my mind if and when we learn more about them but until then I could take them or leave them.

I also was  in the beginning when Rodney told John that he thinks Teyla is avoiding letting him hold Toran since he accidentally dropped him the last time he held him. What had me  was when he told John that he was dropped a lot as a baby and it never affected him in anyway and John replied that it explained a lot it was  to   .

The next episode looks good also but I have to wait two weeks to see it since sci fi is not showing it this week

It has been a long two weeks wait but Atlantis is finally back on 

Before I give the review on the episode I wanted to give some news regarding Stargate Atlantis's schedule for people watching it on the Sci Fi Channel in the US 

Sci Fi announced that we won't have to wait until January like we usually do to see the second half of the season but instead we can see the second half of the season starting October 10th at its new time slot at  9:00 PM. The reason being to me is because they need Atlantis to help its new show "Sanctuary" starring Amanda Tapping (which will follow Atlantis in the 10:00 PM time slot) with its ratings by being its lead in show.

Air Dates for some of the episodes unless there is a change by Sci Fi:
August 22 "The Shrine" 
August 29 NO NEW EPISODE 
Sept. 5 "Whispers" 
Sept. 12 "The Queen"
Sept. 19 "Tracker"

Now onto my review of "Ghost in The Machine"

It starts off with the team heading back to Atlantis in a Puddle Jumper after checking out a planet that they could possibly use as an Alfa Site for the expedition in case Atlantis fell. When they are about to go back through the Stargate the Puddle Jumper starts acting up and the team is nearly killed when everything shuts down all of a sudden and power surges start to happen. When they finally get power back and head to Atlantis again they  find out that they brought whatever caused the power to act up on the Jumper along with them to Atlantis and it starts wreaking havoc with there computers. They soon find out where the power source problem is coming from which ends up surprising them all. They find out that it is an old friend that they thought they lost: Elizabeth Weir.

She tells them a story about how Koracen a Replicator scientist on Weir's ship that we last saw in "Be All My Sins Remeber'd"  believes he has found a way to reach a digital equivalent of ascension. The replicators consciousnesses will be enabled to exist indefinitely as fields of energy according to him if they upload their minds to subspace and let their nanite bodies disintegrate which will allow them to move freely about the galaxy.

The team has to find out if this really is Weir and also what to do after the other replicators follow her back to Atlantis and start wreaking havoc of there own with the computers on Atlantis.

What I loved about this episode was how they explained how they could get someone else to play Weir because they were unable to get Torri Higginson back to reprise the roll. It was plausible to me and I liked there choice of replacement a lot  Rodney made you feel so bad for him because he expressed how he felt it was his fault that Elizabeth is on the situation she was in do to his turning the nannites back on. I also liked Woolsey in this, he is starting to look like the best leader Atlantis has had and I just hope he keeps it up. All in all this was another great episode for Stargate Atlantis 

Also for people who live in the US the ratings for the following Atlantis episodes are  "Broken Ties"  a 1.2 and "The Daedulus Variations" got a 1.3. Let's hope they keep up the great work and the ratings continue to go up so we get a 6th season 

Next week "The Shrine" (I AM SO EXCITED)

Atlantis Movie Green-Lighted

SCI FI Channel announced that it has given a green light to a two-hour movie based on its original series Stargate Atlantis.

SCI FI will air the as-yet-untitled film as a world premiere before its release on DVD by MGM.

Annoucement of the new film follows similar telefilms based on SCI FI's Battlestar Galactica and two straight-to-DVD Stargate SG-1 movies, Stargate: The Ark of Truth and Stargate: Continuum.

The Atlantis movie will be written by executive producers Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie, who also serve as the series' show runners.

The movie is set to follow the fifth and final season of Stargate Atlantis in January 2009.

"We're excited to tell Atlantis stories on a bigger canvas," said Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper, co-creators of SG-1 and Atlantis, in a statement. "The successes of the two original Stargate [direct-to-video] movies The Ark of Truth and Continuum have shown us the opportunities that the movie format offers. We have plans for both SG-1 and Atlantis to remain vital as we expand the franchise." Atlantis will air a milestone 100th episode in January 2009.
