its not over until it is over.

Just putting this up here as lots will read, I will most likely be getting direct so if they do have some nice autos/costumes just try to keep it in mind. I did it for ROTKU and only a few people picked up on it but they were alot cheaper then anyone else as I am not out to make a profit Smiley

This set sounds good - I wonder who will be in for it? Lets see... I'm guessing Sean Astin will be Roll Eyes but that OB won't (if he is, I am sure he will just sign OB anyway a la Sean Bean, and we don't need that anyway Tongue). Viggo and Liv, I guess (though I hope they won't, they only devalue the cards they already have signed. Feel like going to Topps and painting in huge letters outside their building: 'Wormtongue! Treebeard! Sauron! Elrond! Gandalf the White!'

I would like a Frodo one though... never got around to getting one of the other 2

you mean to say you actually think that Topps will get there heads out of there @$$ and make real cards? I do guess it is up to the actors and I have no problems with more sean liv or viggo but they have ZERO creativity as they have shown as of late. so I will wait but I will not have high hopes as they wil mostlikely be shattered by Topps.

Then again my high hopes would be setting up up there Tongue

LOL Goofyjas, its called wishful thinking Grin I do hope Topps realise that their last release was terrible and made even worse because the movie itself was brilliant. This is their last chance to make good and I hope they do instead of putting out the crap that they have for ROTK and ROTKU and expect us to lump it (which sadly people do... for the sake of completion I guess)

I have to ask the question because I don't know the answer maybe some do..................................................
Is it really Topps fault for the sets?
It sounds like the actors have to be willing to sign and put a quality signature on the card.  I would guess sometimes it is hard to get the actors to do it if they are in the middle of a movie shoot or want to move on from the LOTR trilogy.  Also I would think tops would be at the mercy of the studio when it comes to costumes or material for the card set.

I think we would all agree HP POA was such a success because Warner Bros was so involved in the whole process.   It's not like Artbox has ever put out sets like Inworks or others are known for.  Lets face it the HP POA set common cards a collated poorly in packs and boxes and there were a lot of crappy cuts on the cards.

I think if the studio would have worked with topps a little bit more it could have had a better release.  Movie worn costumes wouldn't have been to much to ask!
I didn't even know that til I read that in this thread I guess I regret that I have collected the sets now.  If topps didn't produce a higher quantity each release boxes would be going for $100 plus just on presale.

The set sounds interesting - lets hope Topps does it right.   I do hope we see some interesting Auto and Costume cards.

sauron, Gandalf the white, wormtongue, TB, smeagol,

TB - Treebeard?

Or the Balrog?

I hear he's too much of a diva to do autograph cards - well that's what Elijah says on the TT Ext Ed DVD commentary  Undecided

Anyone hear what prices boxes or cases will be going for for these yet?  The article says it is slated for a September release date - any more info on that as well?
