I dont think J.K has any ressurections in the next book. And no I wouldnt read it. But then we would know how Harry dies. Without Hermiones smart Harry would have died a long time ago. I know I would see the 6th or 7th movie

I have to say all these theories are popping up everywhere i look! most of them make sense apart from people like hagrid being the half-blood prince. how can he? yes he may be a half-wizard, but his father is dead, so speaking in terms of royalty for example, if the father (King) dies, then the son (Prince) becomes the King. so Hagrid would technically be a king, not a prince. do you get me? Huh

With the book mere days away I thought it would be nice for people to have one big, wild prediction.  That way we will know whoever gets the nearest to what actually happens is:-

a. JKR in disguise Shocked
b. Professor Trewlaney under a pseudonym  Grin
c. A really good guesser   ROFL!

So my wild stab in the dark is that Hogwarts will close down as a school just before Christmas and become the Head Quarters of the Order of the Phoenix.  When the Ministry try to kick them out the Half Blood Prince arrives, who just happens to be the Heir of Godric Gryffindor and therefore the rightful owner of the castle.  Once he enters Hogwarts the castle senses his presence and rejuvenates, becoming like it was 1000 years before.

(nothing too detailed  Wink )

I have 3 predictions I want to post, and I'll post again in Mikes thread.  I just want to do it now so I don't forget with all the excitement. Wink
1.)  I think Dumbledore trusts Snape because Snape was the one who tried to warn Harry's parents about Voldemort.  I believe he was in the house at the time Voldemort arrived.
2.)  This is probably a little far fetched, but I believe that Harry's mother is a relation to Voldemort.  Voldemort went back and killed his muggle father when he was a teenager.  Who's to say that his father didn't remarry and have other children during those 17 years while Voldemort was growing up?   Maybe Lily is the daughter (or grand daughter?) of one of those children?  That would acount for her being born to muggle parents, but still having a tie to Voldemort. Green eyes, etc.
3.) If there is a war, I predict that Goblins and/or house elves will play a major part.  The key to winning may be to get Goblins and House Elves on the good wizarding side.

Ok, that's all on record in case my predictions come true.  Yeah, right. Roll Eyes

Snape had a big scene in COS with the dueling club.  I'd be surprised if we didn't see a Snape costume or auto for that set.

Galaxy Quest was only on the other day. I think Alan is at his best in Sense and Sensebility only not if you want that evil edge.

I LOVE that movie. And Alan in it  Kiss I've been such a big fan of his since I first saw that movie. I agree he is at his best there, providing you don't want a bad/evil character. I must watch this movie again soon...

I am a huge Alan Rickman fan too.  I know he looks completely different in the HP movies, but I do like that bad guy with accent image about him.  That is why this book sort of depressed me (still not over it :'()

I really hope to see a costume/auto from him at some point.  That would be awesome!!!  Of course, I would need to hopefully pull it frmo a box, since prices for the auto on eBay would probably go way above my spending limit.

I just finished HBP on Saturday - my first time reading the HP books is now over.  :'( I always said I'd never read them, and now I have, and they were amazing! Can't wait for #7.

Anyway.. HBP. I don't think Dumbledore's dead, and I don't think Snape is on Voldermort's side. I spent some time reading dumbledoreisnotdead.com, and some of my thoughts on his death seem to be on there, though in more detail. I hope he's not dead anyway.

As for book 7.. I have no idea what's going to happen. I just hope that Harry/Ron/Hermione survive it.

I've just had a look and there's some very interesting points on that site. Although saying DD was struck with expeliarus (or however you spell it) can't be right thats a red beam, what do we know other than AK that has green light?

I dont think we need to shift through all the spells to find one thats green, we need to look more into these lines

Quote
5. Don't Point That At Me Unless You Mean It

Several times in the course of the Harry Potter books, J.K. has told us that the Avada Kedavra is not a curse you can make lightly.

In Goblet of Fire, the fake Mad Eye Moody tells his DADA class:

"Avada Kedavra's a curse that needs a powerful bit of magic behind it -- you could all get your wands out now and point them at me and say the words, and I doubt I'd get so much as a nosebleed." (GoF pg 217/192)

And in Order of the Phoenix, we learn more about Avada Kedavra when Harry tries to curse Bellatrix:

Hatred rose in Harry such that he had never known before. He flung himself out from behind the fountain and bellowed "Crucio!" Bellatrix screamed. The spell had knocked her off her feet, but she did not writhe or shriek with pain as Neville had -- she was already on her feet again ... "Never used an Unforgivable Curse before, have you, boy?" she yelled. "You need to mean them, Potter! You need to really want to cause pain -- to enjoy it ..." (OotP pg 810/715)

If Snape was really working on Dumbledore's orders to make it look to the world as if Snape had killed him, even if he had used the real Avada Kedavra, if he had not really meant it, if he really didn't want to kill Dumbledore, then isn't it possible that the curse didn't kill Dumbledore, but only injured him badly?
