if you are going to sell a lot of items on ebay hundreds not thousands over a couple of months whats the most cost efficient way to do so.

Depends if they're random articles or if they're related in some way or you have more than one of the same thing.  If you have lots of stuff in the same category, say a whole bunch of Harry Potter, LOST and Buffy cards, you can open an ebay store.  List some of the items in aution format with a link to your ebay store and make sure you have copy directing lookers/bidders to your store.  THAT IS KEY, make it in bold type so it's easy to spot or no one will know to visit your store.  You can list everything else in the store for about .03 cents per listing.  Ebay charges about 8% per sale from your store, but you can keep your listings there for up to 30 days for the one .03 fee.  The store might even be free for the first 30 days.  They used to do that, but I'm not sure if they do it anymore.  Otherwise I think it's about $15 per month?  You can also send store items to auction format very easily.  That way you don't have to redo your auctions if you want to move stuff.
