I can't remember if it was Dave or Bryan that told me Alias was a good series, but in case anyone wanted to know, Target has the Alias 1st season set on sale for $29.99.  I think that's around $20 off.  I watched the first episode last night and thought it was really good.  Serenity is also out now on DVD.  I got that too.  Grin

I'll let you know what I think after I watch the whole series.  BTW Dave, you're right, Jennifer Garner is hot.  And I feel very secure with my sexuality to say that.  Wink

Love to!  Phil and I are totally hooked!  We are up to the part where "The Man" is trying to get some of the Rimbauldi artifacts and Sydney just found out that her face is on the piece of paper that was blank.  We figured out that Sydney's mom was KGB before it was revealed and we think we are on to at least one more thing about her past.  We both think that Marshall is hillarious!
I think I like LOST just a little bit better, but it's really a close call.  Phil definately likes Alias better because it's a little more reality based.  He's not into some of the weird stuff LOST comes up with, which is what I happen to like most about the show.
We'll definately be getting series 2 when we finish series 1.  Cool

It was so hard for me to wait til the next episode (and rented the DVD's since I never watched it on TV before this season).  I would come home and watch an episode during lunch.  Then when I got home from work I would sometimes stay up til 1 am watching episodes even on a work night.....zzzzz...

Especially with so many episodes ending with cliffhangers.  Season 2 is just as good IMO.

The most amazing thing to me was that JJ Abrams basically had the first 5 seasons planned out before the show ever was even made.  Makes you wonder what his plans are with Lost.  I wonder if he has the whole thing planned out already.  I feel a stronger bond to Alias because there aren't as many characters, I think with Lost having so many characters I find I don't feel as attached to them.  I spread my love around more Tongue  Except for Kate I really do like her a lot Wink

Uh shipwrecked on an island can only choose one Jen Garner or Evangeline Lilly Huh  That is a real coin flip ROFL!

I know what you mean about the cliffhangers.  We vow to watch only one a night, then when it ends we look at each other and say-Just one more!
We watched the one about the prophesy last night.  Phil thinks the series is starting to take a turn towards the stupid, but I'm starting to like it even better!  I also saw the guy that's supposed to be in jail on the dock where Sydney went into the water.  He was dressed in a police uniform.  If I wasn't a LOST fan and been subconciously trained to look for stuff like that I would have missed it!

I've been wanting to get into this ever since I heard that it was the same guy who does LOST - I wonder if it's on special offer here too?

Season 2 is equally as good, and Season 3 is not the greatest....but it definetly still packs some twists.

It goes downhill at season 4 though
Yeah, Garner is Beautiful in every single episode

We're into season 2 now.  Smiley  I thought the first season was terrific, but a couple of small questions:
The ex-FBI guy turned CIA, turned double agent for "The Man".  The guy that Jack put his hand in a vice to get him to tell some info.....what happened to him?  Did Jack kill him?

Also, Sydney never seems to kill any bad guys.  She killed The Snowman, but that was an accident.  It's kind of weird how she knocks them out or drugs them instead.  What's the purpose?

Thats funny you mention that episode it was on last night and I rewatched it, yes Jack shot the guy.  I always hate movies and shows where you have bad guys with machine guns and they shoot everything but the good guy Undecided  I wouldn't think you have to be a very good aim if you empty a clip from a machine gun.

I do think she kills some people, I can think of one (if I remember correctly) in particular but I am not going to ruin it for you.

Kelly how are you coming along on Alias?  Next week the final episodes begin to run.  I can't wait.  I think this will be really exciting to the end.

I'm going to have to hold Phil back from watching the final episodes.  We saw a preview and it sort of ruined a HUGE part for me.  :'(  We're on season 2 right now, but we haven't watched in about 2 weeks, just too busy.  We're up to the part where hopefully Dixon will join the CIA.  We absolutely LOVE it, and plan to get all seasons on DVD.  You know, I really enjoy watching from DVD better than television.  We can go at our own pace and watch 3 in a row if we want, or stop for a week or so.  Cool

Kelly I totally agree, I watched season 1-3 on DVD in about 3 weeks I couldn't stop the show was so good.  Then I didn't get the TV set up for the first 4 episodes of season 4 and they never showed the episodes again so I had 17 episodes on my Tivo, but couldn't watch unless I skipped the first 4, that doesn't work with shows like Alias and Lost.

So I had to wait until season 4 came out on DVD last October.  You might just have to wait until season 5 comes out on DVD anyway unless you tivo'd or taped the first half of the season.

I do agree watching on DVD is so much better, no week (or more) of waiting for the next episode if you don't want to.  I think some day I will pick up the 24 DVD's as people seem to like that show alot.  What part was ruined for you?  Dixon is one of my favorite characters just an overall good guy.

I thought that would be it.  I pretty much almost peed my pants when that happened.  Imagine watching it without knowing that was coming, scared the heck out of me.
