and I found this one website (the owner also sells on ebay) sicollect.com
I called them 2 weeks ago but they said they were sold out, but yesterday I saw that it was still on their website (for $57.95 a box and cheap shipping to Canada!) so I tried to order 10 boxes. I thought 'well, if he's out of stock I'll get an email telling me so. No harm in trying'
Today I got an email telling me my order has shipped!! Yay! For just under $600 US I have another case. I'm hooked! You Yak Shackers have got me totally hooked! I better start selling some cards to make up some of the money I spent. I'm pretty happy with the cost since I can't even find a box on ebay for under $69.
I thought I'd tell others on here in case they'd like some and sicollect still has any.
Has anyone here dealt with them before? They seem pretty reputable.

Only once in the past week. Wink  They've been great when I've dealt with them on eBay (user-ID there is cardman-101). That was a great deal you found on their website, and I might have to check there from time to time.

Wow, that's a great price on a case! The only cases I have seen lately are Tom's and he's at $700 now. Wish I preordered more cases...

Yes, the preorder prices are usually a LOT less than what you're seeing now.
We all have to take the gamble that the cards and inserts will live up to expectations and some card manufacturers are better than others at giving detailed information about their new releases, so some card sets really are a leap of faith when you place your orders and others less so! Roll Eyes Wink
I thought the case Tom had up for b-i-n was still reasonable, as people are selling single boxes of GOF for around $75 EACH ... if you can find them on ebay of course!

yep, it all depends on demand and supply. normally, dealers will set their preorder prices according to their past releases price. like for example, buffy season 7 preorder price will be the same as the season 6 case. its only in situations when manufacturers have sold out their products, the dealers will then raise the prices. current examples are potter goblet and lost where they are soldout from manufacturers and dealers subsequently raise their prices naturally.

buying preorder is normally a good idea if u have all the info as to what inserts are in the case (kudos to rittenhouse and inkworks for doing a great job in releasing such info!).

Okay, let's say I theoretically want to buy two boxes of GOF Update......

how much, give or take, would I be looking to spend if I preorder?

I can't help you much there, but I wanted to vent!
I've been waiting for a case I bought Dec 13...after many emails and phone calls the seller tells me it had been shipped from another location Dec 27 and that it is insured. If I didn't get to me in a week he'd get another sent. Well this past weekend my husband calls to find out and gets told "oh they were sold out, so we'll refund your money". I'm quite angry! After waiting a month and a half, being lied to   Angry and told it shipped, now getting a refund (which costed me $50 because of the exchange rates on my credit card!)
I don't know if I should email this guys and ask why he lied and let him know that it cost me, and to please not do that in the future to customers, or to just let it drop.
I'm just pissed that I was excited for over a month and had another opportunity to buy at a good price but didn't because I thought I already had a case on the way  Hopping Mad  :'(

Argh. I think I would call them and give them a piece of my mind. Of course if it was really lost in the post you might feel a little guilty Sad

He told me in an email that it shipped Dec 27 (I still have the email), then told my husband they didn't have it to begin with!  Hopping Mad Can't get lost in the post if it never was in the post to begin with...if it was (which is wasn't) I want the insurance money so I wouldn't lose $50 in exchange cost from my visa  Hopping Mad
It was from that site I mentioned a while back that had the boxes on their site still for $57...

Plus, if it were insured, it would have tracking, wouldn't it?
I'd be letting them know how I feel!!!  Hopping Mad Hopping Mad Hopping Mad
I would also demand more of a refund!!  Hopping Mad Hopping Mad

What is it lately with some of these sellers? Was there a scam convention recently!!! Angry

If the charge is reversed won't you get all of the money back? Have them do a charge back. Or you may be able to call your CC company and do a charge back.

The seller is on eBay and I used Toohaus.org to read the negative feedback he's received (it sometimes takes a while for the page to load).  It appears that matthea's situation isn't a new one for the seller. Undecided

It's a sad situation, especially if you're out extra money.  It could simply be that one person thought the other had done something that they hadn't...
