Check out www.mugglenet.com for full info, but it appears (via JK's site) that the title of Book 6 is.... drumroll....

Harry Potter and the Pillar of Storge

Apparantly it relates directly to CoS and OotP. Storge (pronounced
'stor-gee) is Greek for parental love

Am so excited. I can't wait Grin!

Also GoF roles (confirmed):

Roger Lloyd-Pack - Barty Crouch
Pedrag Bjelic - Igor Karkaroff
Jeff Rawle - Amos Diggory
David Tennant - Barty Crouch Jr.

GoF rumour: Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort. Hmmm... Huh

Ooh I can't tell you how excited I am - a Ralph Fiennes auto card?

He's one of my favourite actors EVER!

And WHAT a family - Joseph Fiennes (also an excellent actor but not quite Ralph)

AND Ranulph Fiennes - polar explorer and mountain climber extraordinare! How cool IS that family??

Tell me about it Cheesy I copied the post below. Two points:
1. Who is Filius JK mentions (the one who apparently put the engorgement charm on Book 6)
2. Its nearing the length of OotP (if its not there already!) Woo! There is no such thing as a too long Harry Potter book! Cheesy

Earlier today, someone accidentaly got behind the door at jkrowling.com without hacking, and were greeted by a surprise. Apparently this information isn't supposed to be released until the first of July, but they got it some how. Anyways, it took the person to a book, and on the left page was the dark mark, and on the right page was written the following...

-----
01/07/04

Erm… it is perhaps time for me to reveal
the title of Book 6! I am nearing completion of the
first draft and have definitely decided upon a
title. I had numerous possibilities in mind, but
as I wrote, I realized that only one did the book
justice.

The more clever Potter fans may recognize that
the title relates directly to both 'Order of the
Phoenix' and 'Chamber of Secrets.' I will be
highly amused if one of you can guess exactly
what's going on!

On a side note, the length of the book is
growing so fast, I could swear Filius has put an
Engorgement Charm on it; an editor's nightmare!
I promised myself not to exceed the length of
'Order of the Phoenix,' but every day that passes
makes that undertaking more difficult.
Incidentally, I have much more work ahead.

Alas, the time has come! Here is the reward for
you lot that so diligently figured out all the puzzles
on the site. If you scroll down to the bottom of
this page, I will reveal to you the title of Book 6!

...

The title of Book 6 is:
Harry Potter and the Pillar of Storgé
---

A video of them returning to the door can be found at
http://reborn.00game.com/screen.mpeg/
and a picture of the page up close and cleaned up a bit can be found at
http://img9.imageshack.us/my.php?loc=img9&image=clearer_view_page.jpg

Sorry about the long post. Just thought it would save some people having to go to another site. Cool Is very important HP info after all Wink

Hmmm... looks like Book 6 title may not be what it seemed (thats why I put a question mark next to it in the title of my thread). It has not been confirmed nor disconfirmed. But here are some reasons as to why it may not be so. From mugglenet:

Over the past 24 hours, over 2000 comments have been left regarding the possible title of Harry Potter and the Pillar of Storgé for book six. Some of you have made strong cases for why the title may be fabricated:

For one, "she" uses American punctuation instead of British punctuation on this sentence: The more clever Potter fans may recognize that the title relates directly to both 'Order of the Phoenix' and 'Chamber of Secrets.'

In Britain, the ending quotation mark should go inside the period. As I was reading her biography on her site today, I noticed that she punctuated things the "British way," which leads to the assumption that either she made a typo in her book 6 post (the same problem appears in the next paragraph, except with a comma rather than a period) or that an American typed it up for her.

The first assumption seems incorrect because it is unlikely that she would make the same mistake twice in a row. The second doesn't seem likely either, because she affirmed that she is indeed the one writing the things on her website, and I'm sure Lightmaker made some easy system allowing her to update, so she could do it herself. Another reason the second assumption does not seem probable - the title of the sixth book is classified information, and she wouldn't let just any staff member at Lightmaker type that up, because then it would leak in no time.

Also, why would Jo put that information anywhere on her site prior to when she wanted to release it? She is the master of secrecy, and you think she'd be able to wait until July 1 to put it on her site. Although it's not in an easy-to-access area, it seems very non-JKRish to do that.

It is a bit strange that she would include a difficult-to-pronounce word such as Storgé in the title of her book.

One more reason: The only way that some visitors can "hack" past the door is by downloading the file to their computer, and then opening it to find this link to a book with Latin characters on the pages. Once you open the file on your computer, you can modify it however you like, which includes modifying the text on the book.

Other reasons exist for why the title may be fabricated, these are just some.

Updates: A few more reasons...
1) When watching the video, the "help" tab disappears momentarily. While perusing her site, the "help" tab never disappears from the screen.
2) The Dark Mark (what Jo uses as a spoiler warning) is on the wrong side of the page. The Dark Mark should be on the page with the spoiler, and you then have to click on the Dark Mark to reveal the text. The Dark Mark then appears as a faded image underneath the text.
3) The font used for "Book 6" does not appear anywhere else on the site. Look at the words "Book" and "Biography" (on the main page) -- the B's don't match.
4) Although the text circulating the Internet said that the date on the post was July 1, a closer look at the video reveals that the date is "22.06.04" (June 22).
5) "The more clever Potter fans may recognize that the title relates..." The correct British spelling of "recognize" is "recognise."

Nuts. I thought we really had it there :'( But I should have realised it was too easy. JK (as the post says) is a master of secrecy - no way would someone have been able to hack into and find out something before she was ready and willing to release the information.

Well apparantly you can now get through the mysterious door on JK's site and a possible (though JK doesn't confirm either way) title will be yours after a small puzzle is solved. I can't get through... can anyone else? The 'do not disturb' sign has disappeared, but thats it. She does say the Storge title was rubbish - thanks heavens!

For the lazy ones of us, go straight to mugglenet and find out the title there! Wink

Well that didn't help anybody!

I assume you are one of the first on this forum to go through the door which is why no-one knew how to help you! Next time post how you did it to help:

Took a fair few combos but I got there in the end:

GO GO NOW IF YOU WANT TO WORK IT OUT YOURSELF

The sequence is here:

assuming you call the the top brick number  1

3 4 2 5 1

I still can't get through! :'( Although I know the 'secret', I still want to find out for myself! I click on the ring and get the Do not disturb sign, I leae the room, return and the sign is gone, but the door still won't open! I've tried this heaps of times! For those of you who have gotten through, did you have to do anything special besides clicking on the handle - like wait for Peeves or something like that?

Huh Huh Huh

If you click on the door handle and the door won't open then your computer is probably using an old copy of the site from its cache. Try doing this:

on the menu, select Tools -> Internet Options...

then in the middle, select "Delete Files" and then select "Delete all offline content" and click ok.

Oh and do all that when you are NOT on the jk rowling site. Then visit the site again and see if it works Smiley

I know I wasn't very helpful, but I wanted to give people a chance to work it out on their own-plus I was at uni and meant to be studying so I didn't hang around for too long.  All I did was number them 1-5, and then go systematically through every combination in order until one worked... Roll Eyes

Aaagh! I still can't get through the &*%$ door! I cleared the stuff you told me to, but I still can't do it! Yelling 'Alohomora!' at the screen has done nothing except confirm to my housemates that I am 1. obsessed with HP and 2. slightly insane

*sobs* :'(

Woohoooo! Got through! I went to mugglenet and scoured the forum there - found out I had to type in www.jkrowling.co.uk rather than .com and the door OPENED! Hurrah!

(OK, sound slightly demented and quite, quite sad)

From mugglenet.com

We have received confirmation from Warner Brothers that Ralph Fiennes and Miranda Richardson have indeed joined the cast for GOF. Here is the official press release:

BURBANK, CA, August 4, 2004 - Ralph Fiennes (Red Dragon, Maid in Manhattan, Schindler's List) and Miranda Richardson (The Hours, Sleepy Hollow, The Crying Game) have joined the all-star cast of Warner Bros. Pictures' Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's popular Harry Potter novel series. Fiennes will play Harry Potter's nemesis, the evil Lord Voldemort, and Richardson takes on the role of muckraking journalist Rita Skeeter.

Heehee... this should be good! Glad it wasn't Rowan Atkinson - I shudder to think what would have happened:-X
