I'd like to be an extra but you have to live in the UK.
The WB always runs a contest for a walk on roll usually a month or so before filming starts for us in the US

I knew they would go for pretty girls even though Luna never struck me as being pretty more geeky

I'd have to agree with you there Dawn - the description JKR gave of Luna never struck me as that of a blond-haired blue-eyed beauty and absolutely no offense to the young lasses in the two pix but they're just too pretty for the part! The funny thing was, when they'd announced they were doing the casting on that Saturday, I told Adam about it and whilst we were discussing it a girl from his old school (who also goes to his Senior school) walked past us .... and he turned to me and said quietly ..... 'she'd make a good Luna wouldn't she' as he nodded his head in her direction. What was so funny was that was exactly what I was thinking as he said it and what I'd been thinking each time I'd seen her coming out of school .... I can't tell you why I thought she'd suit the part but only that I could imagine her playing it! I pictured Kingsley Shacklebolt as being thinner faced than the chap they've chosen ... dunno why, but that's how I 'see' the character.

Let us all remember that the actor can be really pretty...then, its all about the make-up. Look at Emma Thompson. I think she is really pretty, but would you consider Prof Trelawney to be?

I think Emma Watson is too pretty for the role of Hermione, hopefully they don't choose a stunner for Luna as it might escalate the hormonal activity at cinemas waaaaaaaaaay too much Seriously though, I think the second girl (brown hair would be more suited, the blonde one is too pretty. And I agree thatI pictured Shacklebolt to have a longer and thinner face as well.

I say the 2nd girl Laura Scaife would be the best. I know an American wouldn't play him, but I pictured Samuel L. Jackson for Kigsley when I was reading the book.

I think she's not too bad from the picture I have seen. Theres more casting news here http://www.hpana.com/news.19263.htmlI must admit that I got confused between Shacklebolt and slughorn I thought it was Slughorn they had cast until I realised he wasn't it OoTP DOH!

Knowing LUNA as JKR describes her, this site has a vote poll on it: VOTE Do you think Evanna looks the part?
Yes - she's just how I imagined Luna to be
No - I don't think she looks right for the roleI wonder how she will take the results? Yes wins: " Do they think that I look like LUNA?" she asks. "I'll never be able to go out again in daylight." No wins: "They think I'm not good enough for the part." She thinks This poll is sort of like: Have you stopped beating your wife and children? Yes NO
