anyone here lucky enough to own one of these cards ? i notice on tom unique's auctions it states that the cards are no longer thick and the wands stick up, I'm guessing its covered in some sort of bubble for protection and to hold the wand in place anyone know if that is the case ?.I'm just slightly concerned about the quality of such an expensive card and the way Artbox have done it this time around  .i know a few people complained about the size/thickness of some of the cards in the past
Also i just bought one figuring that this card out of all the cards available for this set will gradually push itself out of my purchasing reach in the not to distant future .....This is my first post and  i have to say this is a very cool site  information heaven ,so thanks !    Merry Christmas guys

Welcome to the Yak Shack Lacenleatheruk Grin

I just went and had a look at my wand from the SS set and with that the card is very thick.  Even so the wand itself protrudes from the card.  There is no covering over the wand, it just sort of sticks out like a round lump of wood wedged in a slot.  If the GOF card is thinner then I would imagine the wand will stick out more.  I haven't actually yet found a way I was happy with to store this card so unfortunately it is just sitting in a storage case.  Which is a shame cos it is a lovely card.

And congratulations on getting a a Death Eater Wand - they do look gorgeous  Kiss

Hi Lacenleatheruk!  Welcome to the Shack! Grin

I just got my Wand card from Tom yesterday and yes it sticks up higher than the face of the card and there is no protective covering for it. Undecided  I had the same problem with my SS Wand because it had a thick handle.  My Death Eaters Wand is smaller in diameter and even if it isn't fancy, it still sticks up.

Hiya Sharon and anna !!  Smiley
Thanks for the warm welcome ..  anna have you decided how you are going to store your card ? and keep tha drool of it ?..sounds like it might need to be in a protective card case and then in a 4 card sleeve well thats how  i store my s.s wand i dare not squeeze it into anything ..lol ..that way i can keep it in the binder ..i guess it makes sense artbox have thinned the cards out  as not only are they easier to store but they must be less expensive and easier to produce ..very nice card anna cant be many with that wand knuckle ..hmmm i had to search for a word then   lol   I'm sure you know what i mean  Take Care All  Kiss  Helen

I like the word "knuckle", I couldn't think of a word for it. Grin  The way you described is how I will be storing this wand too, it's the same way my SS wand is stored.
