I just had to share the exciting news with other people on this forum who love Stargate as much as me  Grin

It is official Stargate SG1 has been renewed for a 10th season which will make it the longest running Sci Fi series in US television history beating the X-Files, Twilight Zone and all the Star Treks. I just have my fingers crossed now that Michael Shanks and Christopher Judge sign their contracts to be in season 10  or I won't be as excited as I am now  Undecided Praying     If they do sign that's more collectors cards for me to get also as long as Rittenhouse makes them  Shocked 10 years worth  Shocked They will also enter their 200th episode mark and hopefully it will outdo the sorry excuse for their 100th episode *fingers crossed*

As for Atlantis it has been renewed for a third season and as long as David Hewlitt signs up for that I will be very happy  Cheesy

More cards and more episodes to look forward to WOO!!!HOO!!!

Very Funny  Tongue

I can't help it that the show is so great that it just doesn't want to seem to end  ROFL!

...and if you think I am excited now just wait until you see me when I find out if Michael Shanks and David Hewlitt signed on for their respective shows  Embarrassed Tongue

I still can't believe that it will be the longest running Sci Fi show to date  Grin

Grin Grin Grin

Both series have just started their new runs here and they are still just soooo good.  I can't believe I am not missing Carter or Jack.  Fingers crossed they keep Cameron and Varla - I had my doubts but they are just perfect  Grin

I am patiently awaiting January for the second half of season 9 of SG1 and season 2 of Atlantis  Roll Eyes I also found myself not missing Carter or Jack and I absolutley love Vala and Mitchell not to mention General Landry  Cheesy Beau Bridges, Claudia Black, and Ben Browder work well with Michael Shanks and Christopher Judge. I also like Lexa Doig as the new Doctor of Stargate even though I still miss Janet.

The new enemies are really interesting to and I didn't think anything could beat the Goul'd. I wish our station didn't give us this long break because I was enjoying the new seasons of both shows. You are lucky that you will end up being ahead of me in episodes by the time the season begins again here in the States  Azn

This may be the best season in a while of "Stargate SG1", my favorite episodes so far being "Avalon 1 & 2", "Origin", "The Tie That Binds","The Powers That Be"," Babylon" and "Prototype". "Avalon Part 2" was the best of them all though especially between the scenes with Daniel and Vala in the bodies of Harrid and Sallis at least IMO. "Atlantis", The episodes I loved the best so far are "Duet",  "Trinity" and "The Lost Boys"  Grin "Duet" was just great and I just loved Rodney McKay in it.

I am so excited to get a 10th season of SG1, I just have my fingers crossed that Michael Shanks, Christopher Judge, Ben Browder,Lexa Doig, and Beau Bridges definitely sign up for it  Praying and as long as David Hewlitt signs up for the 3rd season of Atlantis I will be extremely happy. Grin

SPOILERS: (In case yu didn't want to know the answer to Vala and Mitchell staying on the show)

As far as Cameron and Landry go I know they will be staying on the show but Vala (Claudia Black) is only staying until Carter comes back to the show, but Vala got such rave reviews their is a rumore going around that she may return sometime in the near future  Grin

Well I'm with you Wendi, I love both shows.  Seasons 9 and 2 respectively have only just started to air in the UK but they were great openers.  I love the fact that Ben Browder and Claudia Black are back together following the demise of Farscape.  I think Claudia is just having guest appearances though and not a permanent addition to the cast.  So long as Browder doesn't start sounding too much like Crichton...

It's also great that Beau Bridges and Mitch Pileggi (X-Files) made appearances too.  Landry seems a little softer than his predecessor but still with suitable authority.  I guess it's hard for these actors to move once they've played in shows of the same genre.  I don't know of any sci-fi shows that Bridges has been in though.  I hope they stay, I just don't know how they keep coming up with new stuff for the show.  Most people wrote Stargate off years ago but it just keeps on coming back.  The writers and producers of Star Trek must be wondering where they went wrong...

I loved Cladia Black and Ben Browder in Farscape so I didn't mind at all when I found out they would be joining the cast of SG1. It is rumored that Claudia's character Vala was so great that the Producers may make her a main cast member in season 10 of SG1  Smiley I just hope that Michael Shanks signs up to because those two together are so great  Grin I just love the way she drives him crazy  ROFL! What episode are you on in the UK  Huh I think "The Tie that Binds" was the last episode I heard that aired over their so far  Undecided I just loved the first 5 episodes of SG1, I feel like the show has been re-energized. With this new cast I found myself not missing O'Neill or Carter at all.

I like General Landry better then O'Neill as a General  in command of the Stargate project because he seems to know the job of the General better then O'Neill ever did. RDA had to many one liners and jokes as General O'Neill to be believable to me. Landry gave me back what I loved about General Hammond, I just hope he stays that way and becomes more like Hammond and not O'Neill  Praying

I am looking forward to January and the continuation of Season 9 and 2 of both shows. I will get get even more excited about season 10 of SG1 as soon as I find out if Michael Shanks and Christopher Judge resigned to do it  Praying

More great news for people who love Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis as much as me  Grin

The main cast members for both shows have now officially signed for the 3rd and 10th season of the Stargate shows...YIPPEE!!! All my favorites are back plus for people who liked Claudia Black as Vala you will be intersted to know that she has also signed on as a regular cast member for seaon 10 of SG1. I love the conflict between her and Daniel and I can't wait to see her again  Grin

The only thing I don't care for is the rumor going around that Sam Carter may appear in a lot of season 3 episodes of Atlantis. I prefer her character to stay right were she is on SG1 so my fingers are crossed that this is all it is a rumor  Praying

I also heard information about the season 8 trading cards from Rittenhouse for Stargate SG1 coming on February 22, 2006 and here is what I heard.

The cards will consist of the following:
Twisted Chase Cards ( Huh)
Personnel File Chase Cards (I hope Daniels is in their  Praying  Grin)
Stargate In Motion Chse Cards (I loved these ones from the first set but sadly all I was able to get from that set was the Daniel one and the Daniel and Share kissing one...I love them but I would also have loved having the Gate opening and closing Motion card)
Autograph Cards
Costume and Prop Cards (I can't wait to see the Prop cards for this set)

I wonder if anyone can tell me who is scheduled to be on the cover of the binder for the season 8 set...I hope it's the whole team again instead of Jack and Sam like last time  Praying

I am excited for January to see the rest of season 9 of SG1 and season 2 of Atlantis  Grin I am loving the Box set of Stargate Atlantis season 1  Smiley These are the only shows so far that I will have the entire series on DVD for besides Firefly of course  Grin

We have just had the episode where Vala leaves and Sam comes back.  I never thought I would say this but I wish it had been the other way round  :'(  Actually the way that episode ended I really thought Vala might have become a regular on Atlantis.  Altough it would be a real shame to split her and Daniel up - I just love them together  Evil

I love Vala and your right I would hate for them to split up her and Daniel, they are so much fun to watch together  ROFL! Cheesy

It's sad to say that I lost respect for Sam's character in season 7 of SG1  Sad and that's why I found Vala so fun and refreshimg to watch. I think it's funny that we got my two favorite stars from Farscape on the show I love to watch the most. I have to say that the best episodes ever of SG1 have to be the first 5 episodes of season 9 along with the premiere episode "Children of the Gods".

Your lucky you will get to see "The Four Horseman, pt. 2" and the rest of the new episodes before I do  Tongue I have to wait until January 6 for my seasons to continue  Roll Eyes
