I kept this excellent and very worthy auction bookmarked and was delighted to see the final amount it raised!

Obviously, it's a lot of money for a sketch card, but does anyone know whether there have been sketches (any set) that have sold for more?  I've seen some of the Disney Treasures sketches sell in the $500-$600 range.  I can't recall seeing any sketch end for more than $1,000 US.

Well, I recall seeing some of the Star Wars Heritage and ROTS sketch cards fetching quite good prices a while back and they were similar to this one, in that the artists who had drawn the original sketches had hand-coloured them and put a LOT more detail on them as Mr Corroney has done with his Yoda card.
None of them went for anything near the amount this one has done though and it being auctioned off for charity may have played a part in the final total.
I'm sure there must have been other instances of sketch cards selling for that high-end price ...

That is brilliant    It just seems a crime to call this a sketch card, this is a work of art.  The artist must be dead chuffed and rightly so

When the Disney Treasures set first came out, the Sketch cards for it fetched $1000+ easily. I remember ALMOST purchasing two cases (which were only around $250) to test my luck and take a chance at doubleing my money.

I have seen Plunkett sketches go for $1200 privately, but I don't know of any that went at auction for that price.

Yes Plunkett sketches are very popular, especially from the ROTS set! I think he only did a small number, was it 100?
