The American football season has begun!  Grin  Does anyone have a favorite pro or college team?  Here's mine:
Pro:  Jacksonville Jaguars
College:  Tennessee Volunteers

The Jags won today!  Cool  Hopefully I won't need to wear a bag over my head this year.

I love the Vikings, but my favorite team is the Phildelphia Eagles!!  Living 15 minutes away, I don't see how you can't be a fan. And don't worry, I am not one of the crazy fans, as I know Philadelphia has a bit of those this time of year!!  I do have my Jersey on for tonight's game though!!!  Go E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles!!!!!! Grin

Just to make everything clear, I am even a bigger fan of the REAL football.  I was soccer (so it is called here) manager all through high school and part of college.  I can not wait for the world cup next year (it has been a long 4 years).  3 years ago, I was setting my alarm at 4am to watch the games!!!  So if we are to talk about that kind of football, I will tell you that my favorite team is Argentina!

My favorite team is the Minnesota Vikings because I am from MN it just feels right to like the home team. I love watching football it is the only time the entire family including my mom watches tv together. Though it is a lot harder to enjoy the game with a 3, 5, and a 2 week old yelling and crying during the game but we still have fun.

And we eat fish and chips

*extremely homesick - the Dutch have great food but it's not quite like home Wink*

Although if I'm honest I haven't had fish and chips at home in 12 months or more Tongue

Well, they do kick it occassionally so technically we can still call it football.  Wink

I know what you mean.  I will finally get to sit down and watch some games this year.  I have a 2 and 6 year old, but I give them some playdoh and they're quiet for at least and hour.  No more babies in this house, I'm done!  But congratulations on yours!  Grin

I'm with you there!!!  I't been way too long!!!  I played soccer for 8 years during school and now my boys are totally into it!!! Grin
As for US football, I used to root for the Broncos (when Elway and Davis we still here).  Now they pretty much stink.   Tongue So now I don't have a favorite.  I'll have to say I'm for the Vikings too.  Most of my relatives live there.

FOOTBALL! - Philadelphia Eagles -- even though they had their heads in the sand on Monday night -

College ball? Unless it's basketball I don't watch college Smiley IF it is basketball then I must lean towards Maryland Terrapins and Kentucky Wildcats!

College Basketball, I like Kentucky a lot.....and I loved University of Michigan...when they were in it.  Occasionaly, the college I went to freshman year makes round one (Monmouth University.  It is were Annie the musical (the original) was filmed.  Daddy Warbuck's mansion is the English building Wink.  My husband graduated from there, yet we did not ever go there together.  He transfered in when I transfered out. lol).

And yes, the Eagles flopped on Monday, huh Undecided

I only went there for a year, so I don't remember anyones names since I graduated elsewhere.  But when I transfered out, my husband transfered in.  And his brother graduated from there as well.  Do you know what year this guy graduated?  I will ask my husband and his brother if they know him. Sorry it took so long for me to repond to this thread.

I'm rooting for.......either one!  I've always liked the Steelers since the 70's, but since Seattle has never won, I'd like to see them do it.  Hopefully it'll be a really good game.
Sara, I'll need to check with Phil about the year Grant graduated.  He's Phils stepbrother.

Congratulations to the Pittsburgh Steelers!  That was a really good game tonight.  I thought that Seattle was getting the short end of the calls in the first half, but the Steelers outplayed them in the 2nd and deserved the win.  I'm happy for Bettis!  Now lets see if he'll retire on a positive note or will he be back for more next year?  Personnaly I think he should retire.  Go out on top and have people remember it.

I watched the game, but couldn't get in to it.  Maybe it was because the Eagles played last year which had me all hyped up.  This year, I sort of lost interest....but I did watch it.  Not many great commercials either.
