I bought some "sealed" Charmed boxes from a ebay seller.
Normaly a box contain 4-5 Chase Cards and a Pieceworks Card. Got the boxes today and opened them. No box have a Piecework Card  :'( and out of the three boxes i got only 4 Chase Cards and 3 Basic Sets. I take a look at the wrapper and noticed the boxes have NO Inkworks Logo. First i thought that the older Charmed boxes have no Inkworks Logo on the wrapper but then i look for pictures in other "sealed" Box auctions and see that this series have the Logo on the Wrap. So this boxes were resealed.

Now i have lost a lot of money and think i cant use the Paypal Buyer Protection or is there still a chance to get the money back?

It would be great if someone could help me.

Could you put up a link to the auction?  Did they say "factory" sealed?

Something is wrong here.  The Inkworks seal is on all their boxes.  I just got a Charmed Conversations box and it had the right logos on it.  These boxes are all resealed.  Did you email the seller?  Did you tell Anna?  I would file a complaint, although, he did not say facotry sealed, he just said "sealed", which technically they were, but you would not have bought them if you knew.  I would try it.  It can't hurt to try.

You must have been so upset when opening them.  And I know if Inkworks says one per box, They mean it.  They are very good with their products.

You could say something like:

Hello,

I received the three boxes of Charmed Connections that I recently purchased from you.  They arrived in good condition.  However, I am aware that Inkworks inserts 4-5 foils per box, as well as 1 Pieceworks card per box.  As I opened these, I only found 4 foils, and no Pieceworks card at all!  Upon closer inspection, I realized that the wrap used to seal these boxes was not the wrap with the Inkworks logo on it, as all Inkwork sealed boxes have.

I am very dissapointed by all of this, as I bought these boxes for the chance to get some rare cards, and had I known they had been re-sealed rather than factory sealed, I would not have bought them.  Please let meknow if there is anything you can do for me to compensate for this.

Thank you for your time....

Or something like that.  Then, if you do not get a response, or a pleasant response, I would file a complaint with eBay for selling an item that came not as described.

If anyone has any other suggestions, please feel free to add them, or let me know if what I said is not good.

I won 4 boxes from this seller. They have not arrived yet. When they do I will be checking for the security wrap logo. It it is not there I'll e-mail him/her for an explanation and ask for a refund. I'll post the results of both the condition and the e-mail response here. If this seller thinks he/she is being "cute", he/she will be rudely awakened if about a dozen Yak Shakers leave Negative feedback at once. I have never left negative feedback, I guess I've been lucky.

One thing I did notice is his/her advertisement says he/she bought the stock of an out of business card shop. The out of business shop may have done the re-sealing and he didn't notice it. However, if he/she is an honest seller a refund should be made. Just my opinion.

Are you expecting them soon?  With this knowledge, you know you might not want to open them if they do not have the sealed logo on them.  Yeah, this guy is not looking so good.  Did Anna's box contain anything?

That is so awful.  Yes technically it doesn't say factory sealed, but the implication is the boxes are untouched.  I have seen auctions for 36 packs of cards, but then you know they are not from a sealed box and have been cherry picked.

Graham had something similar a while back, I think it was with the Farscape Through the Wormwhole.  There were hotboxes that were labeled on the inside flap of the box.  The boxes he received were sealed but someone had slit the wrapper very carefully to look for hotboxes.  In this case the seller would do nothing, he now just avoids them.  Hopping Mad

rns91294 I think that is a great opener to see what they say  Smiley

To be honest, i would say that i feel defrauded. And that i can't accept to get defrauded. Then i would say that i don't know if it's the fault from the seller or if the seller got defrauded too. But i would let the seller know, that i expect any kind of refund now. Of course i would say it in a friendly way ...  Roll Eyes

Yes, that's the difference. To sell cherry picked packs in a re-sealed box is fraud, nothing else. That's my opinion.

I agree.  i think it is fraud too.  I have seen auctions for sealed boxes that state the boxes have been resealed.  At least you know what you are buying.  But to be fair, the seller might not have known.  You could add:

Please let me know if there is anything you can do for me to compensate for this, as I feel I been mislead as to the contents of these boxes based on your auction description.

I definitely will not open them. It would ruin my claim.

Please keep us informed on this.  I agree that this is wrong.  We all know to look at the way boxes are sealed for now on, but he advertised it as if they were sealed, and to not pull a single pieceworks!!  I think the packs with foils in them also feel a little "tighter", so these boxes were definitely cherry picked by someone Hopping Mad

Got a answer

Hi, Sorry you had trouble with the boxes. I wasn't selling factory
sealed boxes so there is no telling what you might get. Go ahead & open the
other 2 boxes & if you don't get the pieceworks cards I will go out & buy
them for you if you want me to. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks

So he is definately selling cherry-picked boxes.

And now? I mailed him that i have not get even one Pieceworks Card.

Is there a chance to use the buyer protection? He did not wrote that he sells re-sealed boxes in the description  Huh Huh Huh

Thanks for putting his reply on the Forum.

I just sent him the following e-mail by way of the ebay system:

Sir:
I won and paid for the following four auctions:
Topps FOTR Trading Cards HOBBY Box Item number: 6204879115; Topps FOTR Trading Cards HOBBY Box Item number: 6204879302; Topps LOTR THE TWO TOWERS Trading Cards HOBBY Box Item number: 6204880115; Topps ROTK Wave 1 Trading Cards HOBBY Box Item number: 6204881854. I have carefully read the descriptions and looked at the picture in the auction description. I am under the impression from the description that these are factory sealed boxes. I have not received the boxes as of today. A friend of mine has told me that she has received boxes from you as well and the boxes seem to have been cherry-picked. I would rather not even open the boxes and just return them directly to you for a refund. I believe it only fair that the item be accurately and fully described. Please advise me if these boxes are not factory sealed.
Thank You,
John W. Martin

I'll let you all know what he says.
John
