It wasn't just one bidder either...
I have always regarded the TTU set as being one of the best, by content, S Bean, Viggo, Andy Serkis autos, and all the main interesting characters' costume cards... but still!

Wow that is a bit of a rise in prices...
As far as I know there was no PJ announcement haha so who knows what has happened...there must be some type of contaminant in the drinking water over there in the UK to make these guys go a little nuts over LOTR costumes!!

This buyer (chacotah) has a tendency to buy at higher prices - she bought my FOTR Arwen for about $200 US
Not that I am complaining though

Ooh I like Tracey's option best
I'm just drinking a cup of tea - if this contaminant is not destroyed in boiling I'll be buying repeats of my costumes at 2-3 times the normal price by this afternoon

Roz I think you are safe...usually boiling the water kills the germs...
(but dont quote me on that cause if you do go on a costume spending spree I dont want to be blamed
)

I admit it - I was one of the crazy bidders for two of these cards. I was after the Saruman and Aragorn card for a certain big brothers Birthday pressy.
I stuck with it up to about £60 a card then dropped out - I have a feeling if I had put £100 I would have been out bid. I have been looking for these two cards for over a year and these are the first I have seen on Ebay. There is only one auction listed on the price guide for the travelling coat and none for the overtunic so I think these must be quite rare. But not eighty quids worth of rare

Ahh I should bow out Sharon, they are pretty tough to find these days.
