Not sure if any of you yakshackers would have heard about this but a while ago an internet based company called Angels In the Outfield began selling LOTR UC replicas for rock bottom prices. Like many at the time I was skeptical about the whole thing but once hearing some good news about them I decided to order the UC Sting sword and U/E Anduril sword. (This was about August 2004). Sting arrived without a problem and I was told that Anduril was on backorder. After receiving one order I figured they were legitimate and there was no need to be suspicous. Months went by and I never received Anduril and soon it rolled around to March 2005. I inquired again only to find my email address had been blocked and the company had been forced to close. Now I have no Anduril and no way of even getting a refund through PayPal as its been a year now. I reported the company to the BBB (Better Business Beaurea) and basically AITO did not co-operate. Ive just about given up any hope that anything can be done but if anyone here at all knows any steps I can take please dont hesitate.  :'( Is there any other fraud company I can report them to? Another problem is they are in Texas in the US and Im here in Australia.

Your address was blocked?  Are you sure they closed?  Is there some way you can use another email address to try and get in touch with them?  That is just plain awful!!!    Hopping Mad

I know that they closed down as there was an announcement on one of the LOTR forums I frequent. I did get one email through and they told me they would block my email from all their various email addresses because they said something like they tracked my IP. I tried creating a new email address with hotmail but I didnt even get a response.  :'(

When you paid through PayPal, did you charge it to your credit card?  If you did, you can file a claim with your bank that issued you the credit card.  The bank will try to recover whatever amount PayPal was unable to recover.

Well it did charge my card except it was a debit card. So I only have the right amount of money in there to pay for online transactions. Can I still file a claim with my bank? Thanks.  Smiley

I'm not sure.  When I had to file a claim, I had charged the item to my Visa credit card. Undecided  You should still contact your bank's fraud department and see if they can help you, it couldn't hurt.
