Need more computer help

Okay, need more help. 

Let me explain.  I have internet access through NetZero.  I use their free dial up access which is slow, but it works.  I get 10 free hours a month, which is fine or I would spend too much money on  .

Anyway, I went on the other night and placed a bid.  I wanted to log off to save time, but my husband decided to download some Harry potter Wallpaper for the PC.  He got it and logged off.  Well, ever since then, whenever I try to log on to NetZero, I get a run time error.  Although the Netzero advertisement bar in on the screen, I can not get to ANY webpage.  Not google, yahoo, eBay, nothing!!!   

Anyone have any ideas how to try and fix this?  I would really like to be able to get on to eBay this weekend!!!!

Have you contacted NetZero, that usually worked when we had MSN

Do they have a phone number?  I have to go look them up.

Oh, it says the problem is with internet explorer.exe.

Any how idea how much Netzero allow you to download in data every month?  If your other half downloaded some wallpapers he may have used up all your download allowance.  Some service providers restrict the amount of data it's subscribers can download each month so that bandwith stays relatively free for all subscribers in equal measure.  In other words, so that the access speed doesn't grind to a halt because someone is being greedy and hogging it for big downloads such as games, films, music etc.  Don't forget, ANY web page you look at constitutes a download becuase they contain pictures, text, web code, all of which sits on your computer in the internet explorer cache.  You ought to check with any service provider if they allow unlimited downloads or if they restrict it.  Always go for the ones with unlimited downloads!

Do you know of any that are still unlimited in the UK?  We are with Tiscali who used to be unlimited but have now 'slipped' in a 1 mega byte limit.  Any info would be greatly appreciated

I use vianetworks who are based in Warrington but they've recently been taken over by clara.net.  Not that they bothered to tell anyone though.  No communication whatsoever, it just happened overnight.  I don't know if clara.net have any restrictions but I have a 1MB account anyway so maybe it doesn't apply to that.

Thanks everyone!!  Problem solved.  Well, mhy brother-in-law came over and reinstalled Windows XP insisiting that was the problem.  Nope.  You want to know what it was?  We downloaded a Google toolbar a long time ago for some reason, and suddenly, it wasn't working anymore.  All we had to do was trash it.  However, since we reinstalled everything,  I now can not log in to my Yahoo mail account or anything that requires cookies.  I changed the setting to accept all cookies, but it is still not working.  My husband is going to work on it tonight.  Wish me luck!
