Oooooooooooooooh well here's a turn up for the books!

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?path=ASIN/1401308155&link_code=as2&camp=1789&tag=theyakshack-20&creative=9325

(that's the Amazon contribution link for the Shack so if you buy it through that link it helps run the Shack - thanks!

Listen to this!

Filled with a detailed episode guide and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the show, the fully illustrated book offers plot twists and backstories that will help fans uncover the mysteries of Lost. Also included are reflections and anecdotes from cast members, writers, and executive producer/creator J. J. Abram that readers won’t find anywhere else. In addition, the book comes with an exclusive hour-long DVD containing unaired scenes from the show.

Ooooooooooh that sounds good and by UK prices this is a bargain! A book and a DVD for less than $13! And if it sheds some light on the story then it's definitely worth it to me.

I'm not sure that they will ship this to the UK as there may be copyright laws involved, but I'm going to try ordering in a moment.

They are also pre-ordering the DVD set here too:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?path=ASIN/B00005JNOG&link_code=as2&camp=1789&tag=theyakshack-20&creative=9325

7 discs!

It sounds pretty packed with goodies - "backstage with Driveshaft" ROFL!, commentaries, bloopers etc etc. Smiley

The bad news is that none of this is out til September Sad
To our Aussie folk and people in the UK watching Channel 4's LOST I think it may be a good idea to leave it til the end of the first series before watching and reading this!

I picked up the LOST first season DVD set today. It was such a bargain that I just couldn't turn it down.
I buy a lot of techno stuff at a store called Best Buy. Anyway they have a rewards program and I had received a $20.00
certificate. Since the darn things expire (I lost two @ $20.00, never again.) I went in to look around. Lo and behold LOST was
on special for reward program members. Normal price was $49.99, for Rewards Members $34.99  Shocked then my handy certificate made it a real bargain at $14.99.  Grin
Now all I need is time to see it.

Grin He hee - I wonder when mine will arrive? Even for me I regard full price (at amazon this was $35 - all but a penny) as a bargain, it will not be that cheap in the UK for about a year after the DVDs are out Roll Eyes

I know what you mean. As I'm importing Andy I'm likely to pay import tax, but I get it earlier and there's a tonne of extra cool special features, I'll let you know what it costs me all-in - do you have a way to play other region DVDs? Perhaps on your computer or maybe you or someone in your family has a PS2? They are easy to multiregion-i-fy each time you want to use it with no lasting change (only lasts til you reset the PS2 or turn it off).

The set I bought was for 6 disks of episodes and another disk of bonus features. I can get them for about $40.00 including the sales tax. If anyone in UK or Australia would like me to pick up a copy and mail it to you I would be happy to be of service.   Smiley I'm not sure of the postage. I would mark it as a gift and put 18.00 GBP for the value to the UK and $35.00 to Australia. Some points to keep in mind:

Will you DVD player play US (region 1?) DVDs?  :'( If not, may not be a good idea to buy these.

If you pay me by Paypal be sure to include the darn Paypal fees. Tongue I'm not sure what these would be on $40.00. (Anybody got a guess?)

I don't know how long the special price will last.

Send me a PM if you're interested. I watched 3 disk from 11:00 PM until 7:00 AM...Yes compelling stuff!

Ok, since you asked  Grin ,here's some PIX:

Andy I have a rather sneaky suspicion that the UK edition of the book doesn't come with the DVD because I can't see any mention of it Sad

The UK Ediition is know Out and there is a disk with it. BUT not the same dvd as the US copy, this one is just the pilot episode and nothing else, Once again the US has the best version Hopping Mad

To be honest though, getting the pilot is probably better than what I got on the US edition, it was repeats from a documentary on the LOST Season 1 DVD and a couple of (not very good) deleted scenes... all in all you probably did better than I did Wink
