What a nice surprise! Up to that point, we have to deal with the betrayal and the death, and then we get that little nugget! I couldn't find much in OOTP to support a budding romance, but if I recall correctly, Tonks and Remus did seem to tease each other a little bit.
I also liked Harry and Ginny -- imagine him falling for a fiesty redhead, just like his father. It's sad at the end of the book when Harry distances himself from her to try to protect her, but I'm sure they'll end up together again in book 7. Ron comforting Hermione during the funeral is just the beginning for them.

Yes they did even when we first met Tonks and she always called him Remus so figered they were on fairly friendly turns. I did want Harry and Ginny to get together but have had my own fan fic get in the way so my heads a bit messes up (who goes off with someone else and is very happy). But I am see Mrs Weasley being very happy. Fluer and Bill I'm sure some fan fics out there had this. She was annoying me but I must admit I thought she would run a mile after.... but she didn't so she must really love him not just his looks Ron and Hermione I could have just hit thier heads together serveral times in the book come one guys its MENT TO BE

I was so happy when this happened . Plus I hadn't guessed it was coming; I bought the whole Tonks/Bill/Fleur thing. All I am now is that JK doesn't kill Lupin off in the next book. That would be plain wrong So we just have to find Charlie and George someone to hook up to now. BTW where was Charlie for the whole of this book? We just got a sort of vague 'he won't be home for Christmas'. On Order business? ? You would have thought he would have at least made it for the funeral.

All I am now is that JK doesn't kill Lupin off in the next book. That would be plain wrong I wouldn't put anything past JK. It was just plain wrong that she killed off Sirius. He had suffered at the hands of his family, Pettigrew, Dementors, and back in the home he hated. Then she killed him. I've been wondering whether Hagrid will be killed in book 7. His comment to Harry after Snape escaped seemed ominous: "...take more'n that ter finish me."

I think I will turn straight to the last page in book 7 see if Harry lives and if he doesn't not read it. I got resigned to anyone else dieing. I am sure the trio won't all survive aspecially from something JK said.

Just wanted everyone to know that I've changed the title of the thread a little bit. Someone suggested that the title was a spoiler because it indicated that people were getting together. Of course, "ship" does, too, but most people don't understand what that means unless they read or are involved in fanfiction.

Well I though people would realise there would be some relationship stuff, the mystery is who Well I'm glad the Harry Hermione shippers will shut up now. So was it only Ron and Hermione getting close that was forshadowed in POA or anything else?

JK did say that we would be seeing some relationship stuff in this book, because the kids are getting older.
We knew from COS that Ginny had a crush on Harry. There was very little in OOTP to indicate that Remus and Tonks might be interested in each other. There are people who wanted a Sirius/Remus ship, and they are up in arms over the latest development.

Yes that is the added extra that Remus isn't gay I did try looking for evidence for Tonks and Lupin in OoTP there were some possibles but nothing concrete. I think I have my concrete now. I'm so happy for them now (one or boths bound to stuff it, but still at least they got together and admited it before anything happened). That was so nice after what had just happened a bit of sunshine, and I hadn't guessed

Well, I've only freshly finished the book! I highly anticipated that Ron and Hermione would, in fact, show feelings for each other, much to my dismay BUT, Harry suddenly showing feelings for Ginny ... I thought that was contrived and rather pushed! My sister, Holli, and I thought Ginny was using a love potion. These feelings developed in (less than) one book ... I guess I'll just have to get over it ... there's nothing I can do about it anyways! Lupin and Tonks, however, were a great surprise. It did give a little bit of happiness to the dismal feeling left in my gut at the books end! Well I though people would realise there would be some relationship stuff, the mystery is who Well I'm glad the Harry Hermione shippers will shut up now. So was it only Ron and Hermione getting close that was forshadowed in POA or anything else? Well, I don't think I shall ever shut up about this, and I don't even consider myself a ship-thing. This is quite like the love-triangle in "Little Women" and that should be no compliment at all. In fact, it is quite the opposite!

I could be getting my twins muddle but didn't Fred end up with Angelina at the Yule Ball? I just sort of assumed they kept going out together after that but maybe that was just the romantic in me
