The type face is slightly different. You can tell by the "P" in Privet. It's great for a replica, though. They should have advertised as such.  Also, I can buy those Pirates Dobloons down the road in St. Augustine FL. They sell them in the tourist shops for about $1. |

That Privet Drive letter is definetely a fake. The script is way too wobbly and are arent even written straight on the page. Good spotting guys.  |

Re: Howler prop ... yep, it's the same seller Dawn and she's VERY good to deal with ... she has wonderful items and packs them really well for transit and takes time and effort over her emails too. From what she told me my months ago, she travels upto Collectormania and similar memorabilia shows to buy her stock and from what I've seen the majority of her items are proper licensed ones, hence the higher starting price on many of them. I hesitate to recommend sellers, but she's excellent. (no ... I'm not working on commission for her and she's not related to me either! LOL ) As for the Hogwarts letter ... yeah I agree, it's a fake and it should really have been listed as a replica n doubt about it. And ... it's someone from my home town selling it too ... wonder who it is!?  |

I have to say that Howler is lovely, but I still think Luluhime's Howler can't be beaten. Wonder how the Marauders Map is coming on?
And I am on the 'yes it is fake' bench. The G's look different, I think the Mr is too close to the H and the address is centred differently on the envelope. Look where the word 'stairs' finishes.

Well I got my tote bags today and they are really nice and brilliantly packaged. It even came by owl post well it said so on the packet, but I think the owl handed it to the posty  |

hee hee I'm not at all surprised she did that Dawn ... told you she was good to deal with and her packaging is superb ~ it has to be if it's travelling by owl post!! I think she put LOTR-related stuff on the packaging of the things I bought from her .. a really nice touch and made me laugh when I saw it. I know you were after the bags a little while ago and glad you got them today ... a little something to cheer you up. |
