Prop Sets with low starting bid - do you remember the seller?

Hi,

i think these are the first Prop-Set auctions with a starting bid below $1000. Very interesting auctions.

Do you remember the seller? He had a complete Master Set on ebay (with these cards), but used pictures from other auctions. I posted, he must be a fraud and doesn't own these cards, because he didn't tell this when being asked for (and told lies which weren't necessary). I think many will remember that topic (it doesn't exist now).

But finally he ended his auction and started new auctions with own pictures never appeared on ebay before. So i think, i was wrong and he really owns all these cards and is willing to sell them.

Then i found out that he is a forum member and decided to contact him. Meanwhile i got many replies and he sent me answers to my questions. He told me that he knows he made huge mistakes with this Master Set and the wrong pictures and apologied. I accepted his apology and told him, i would start this topic. I'm sure, he will post here too.

I believe and trust him now and wouldn't worry to bid for his cards. But this is something everybody has to decide for himself. I don't know the seller, but he seems to be a nice guy who made mistakes. Your decision, if you like to buy from him or not. I think, i would do now.

Yep, I saw those auctions Tower.  I bought an Oompa Loompa auto from him a few days ago.  He'll get the benifit of the doubt from me.  It just seems like a first time seller mistake and nothing to worry about.  Plus, he didn't know about us CRAZY obsessed Yak Shackers!

I am really sorry to anyone who I mislead or broke copyright rules with my master set auction. The absolute truth is that I was greedy and impatient and I just wanted to get the item listed and sold as quickly as possible. I am not posting here to try and advertise my auctions, I don't want anyone to think that in ANY way, as you can see I have been a member for actually a little while, much before this whole ordeal. I just want people to see that the auctions I have now are legit, that I do have the cards, and to feel safe if you DO decide to buy from me in the future. I would be happy to scan in ANY card(s) for anyone if they just ask. So again, I am sorry to all the members of this forum who were a part of that thread a week or so ago and I hope you can accept a big mistake I made.

I have never sold on eBay, but I can only imagine what it would be like the first time.  I don't know how many mistakes I would end up making.....

It was nice of both of you to start this thread, and it will be interesting to watch both of these auctions too.

We've seen so many bogus auctions over the past year or so, where sellers were purposely trying to rip off buyers.  Some Shack members have horror stories about not receiving items or not receiving the advertised item.  When one of us sees an auction that gives the appearance of not being on the up-and-up, we discuss it here, both to figure out if the auction is legit and to warn everyone to tread carefully.

It's nice to have a happy ending with this one!

It's even nicer to find a coin card incentive auction I can make a bid on and be the highest bidder (if only for a few minutes  )

does anyone think that if I split up the coin incentive cards I would have a better chance at selling them at a better price? If anyone in the forum is interested in them let me know and if you are looking for just one I would be happy to end the auction early and sell them seperatly...what are they worth each? what should they end up bringing in?

Bid with confidence with this seller (bjsnonsportguy). My Platform 9 3/4 arrived today in mint condition and it only took a few days to get from the US to the UK. Very friendly emails and a shack member too which has put Bryan on my list of favourite sellers.

He had a set of three coins at auction as well, but he pulled it. An error in the listing. The problem from a sellers point of view is the highest price, at the time of the withdrawal, was low, around $500.00. There is no way the "error" could have been missed for 3 or 4 days. I suspect that Bryan just didn't want to wait for the real action to begin, which an experienced seller knows happens in the last ten minutes of an auction for high value items.

Especially when you got the Platform 9 3/4 for the opening bid. I know for a fact that the coins could have gone for around $1500.00  I was waiting in the wings to place my bid and the auction disappeared.

If a seller has an absolute needed price that should be the starting bid or the BIN price. Actions like "Error in listing" after several days doesn't curry a good opinion or feeling of trust. We all learn from our "errors in listing".
