IMHO I feel that movies will never replace books.  I'm an avid reader and every movie adaptation I've ever seen cut out too much of the plot from the book.  If I hadn't read PoA  first, I know I would have gotten lost if I had only watched the film.

I had to fill in all the missed details because I was the only ne who read the book frm my family.  Finally managed to get my husband to read GoF and OOTP, and HPB (when it comes out) so that he can get all the info from the books now.

And I keep getting annoyed at the very start of POA, when Harry's under the covers at Privet Drive using magic to read by instead of the flashlight. I'm still surprised that J.K. let that slip into the script.

Yes - use of magic for underage wizards out of school premises and school time is just out of the question!

Harry always used to attempt to bursh up on his magic theory in the holidays but certainly no practice (I am sure Hermione was busier though Wink)

I think the nearest he can get is reading magic books - all theoretical (book) work - no practicals
