I wanted to start a thread about what ever one will be doing when they get their copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I name is Through The Trap Door becuase when we finally do get it it will be like us finally raching are destination and jumping through the trap door (getting the book and taking it where ever) and starting are big task of reading it (the charms and spells after the trap door is this). Kind of stupid but I thought it kind of gave it a "Magic" touch Wink

Oh, and if I've missed something let me now and I'll motify or delete Smiley

Oh, definitely getting home ASAP I get it from the store (Midnight release in UK is 9am here), so I'll pick up my copy from the store, get another copy to whack all the screaming kids out of my way ( ROFL!), go home and lock myself in my room all day. With a nice cup of tea of course. I like to be surrounded by silence when reading... it lets me drift off into whatever world the book decides to take me to Smiley

Food? Friends? Social life? Who needs them? Grin

I agree, I couldnt possibly read it with all those screaming fans around. I like to just sit there in my room, total silence just reading. I read aloud so I always stay shut up in my room till my eyes start to hurt or its five in the morning Wink .

Brilliant Snape.... once again you've put your keen and penetrating mind to the task and as usual come to the wrong conclusion!!

No idea about any parties Trey, not in Syd anyways, although they might release some more info a bit closer to July 16 if they are planning anything. Not sure whether you want to be partying at 9am in the morning though Wink well except for the hyperactive under 12 kiddies... thus why I need an extra copy of the book to hit them with - hurrah for hardcover releases Evil

I didn't pre-order OoTP, I just picked it up the morning it was released form Angus and Robertson - they had plenty of copies when I went in at 9:30. Don't worry - I am sure you will not miss out, I think bookstores have learned to accomodate the Potter release buying frenzies by now Wink

We've got the International edition with the Dumbledore and Harry surrounded by fire pic... you know you guys are *special* and are the only ones that get the GrandPre illustrations and covers! Grin

For the first time, I prefer the US cover to the International one Sad

I also have to read in total silence. Im going to get my copy from Big W as rumor is they're going to have it for around $24.00AU hardback. And they open at 8:30am so i can go down nice and early, get my copy and start reading as soon as Im home. that is of course if Im not working as its a Saturday. Wondering if it's worth asking for the day off in advance.  Wink

I'll be home, waiting for it to be delivered.  Then I'll have to fend off the kids so I can sit down and start reading. Smiley

Mine will also be delivered to me the day of release.  I got it from Amazon.  As soon as I get it, I am reading the first chapter out loud so my husband can hear it too, and then I will be reading before work, and him after work.  I will need to stay away from this forum, as it will take a couple weeks for us to go through it.  I know, crazy right?  But I like to stretch it out as long as I can.

As for the cover, a good friend of mine (she used to work with me, but got a new job) and her new job is a Press that is actually printing the US covers!!!  How neat is that!!  It is walking distance from my husbands job too.

My cunning plan involves going straight to bed when I get in from work, having pre-arranged for my Dad to go to Tescos (or big bro) at Midnight, then race back home and wake me up.  I then read till I have finished  Grin
