She may! Whilst she is painfully buying the US DVDs (yes and slipping in the multi-region thingummyjig each time) she has other suggestions for you!

However, the english dub is only half done - they have got to episode 26/51 (is it 51 or 52 Jo?) and now they are taking a break, which makes little sense really as it's all one story! A really VERY involving story for a cartoon, it's not something the Western world would ever attempt - which definitely adds to it's charm Cheesy

In my opinion, the snare is totally overpriced at the moment, the same as the Whomping Willow and Book of Monsters have been at the beginning and the Sorcerer's Stone is also now. The snare has the rarity of a Permission Form and will run like those with a little bit writing very fast. It's only the impatience at the moment. The stone will also go done, i'm sure. It needs only a little bit time like it needed for the Book of Monsters. But there are too much of them.

When one is a buyer everything is overpriced.
When one is a seller everything is too cheap.

Especially for the frugal ones.

Well, might be true, but a card with a limit of 100 should be sold below $200.  Roll Eyes

Why?

100 in the world, less than that in the collectors market and millions of HP fans! You know as well as I do that if some prices aren't higher than box prices to balance those lower then dealers can't survive and trust me, if dealers go bust we all lose out!

I think it should be at least $200, not under.  And I could never afford one, but that is a very limited number for this card, and a great collector's piece.

Yes, of course you are right, Roz, but that wasn't what i wanted to say.

It's only that i don't understand the difference, that's all. If all cards with a limit of 100 would be sold for the same price, i would understand every price. But is a Devil's Snare better than a Permission Form?

But it's the market and of course it is, if the people pay a price like that. Well, i did.  Grin

No, but it's a LOT easier to find - it was 100/500 cases - which alligns it with the autos of Christopher Lee et al in Charlie and the chocolate factory (120/600), and there were hotboxes. It was infinitely easier to find.

That is the difference, the number made.  If there are less of them, it makes it that much more rare, harder to find, and probably worth more down the line.  The reason the Map sells good is because it is a big part of the movie, making it a popular prop to wasnt to own a piece of.  But whenever you have something that is limited by number, the less there are, the more value there is to it.

But they both are props from the movie so why should it matter. All of them should be over 100 because they ALL are used in the actual movie

One thing about the rare prop cards that hasn't been mentioned is:  are they nice?

The Marauders Map is popular because it is lovely and there are lots of variants.  Even if I had a spare £1,000 or so (  ROFL! ) I am not sure if I would want a Pear Tree Leaf as they are boring.  Now the Platform Ticket..... that is interesting  Grin

But as with anything in life a thing is only worth what someone is willing/able to pay.

But anyway Roz - what's the cool stuff?  Don't keep us in suspence, I havn't recovered from HBP yet  Grin

Yes I mean the Pear tree was such a big part wasn't it the way it broke out of Azkaban just to come after Harry, such a scarey tree Roll Eyes

heh heh

It's the same with the Permission Slip vs Devil's Snare vs Harry and Ron 100 Robe cards - if you look at the marauders map /500 odd it's worth more than any other 500 card because it's so hard to find because of the vast number of cases it was hidden in - I got one in 6 cases. Madam Trelawney and Rosmerta cards go for more than Harry's Quidditch Sweater because of the cost involved in finding them Smiley

So what you are saying is that some things go for more because they hide better? Perhaps there could be loads of them out there still hidden in unopened boxes Huh

But doesn't the thought of all these great cards still being out there just waiting to be found just make you want to  Grin

If I had money yes. But the POA boxes aren't great value like the SS. However if he ahd money I wouldn't have gone for Toms deal of an SS and a POA update box. That would have been fun Grin
