True, but the LOTR three sure came close. What it may have lacked in story, it more than made up for in visual effects.

i think the lotr movies are "Moneymaking  + Hollywood"

The books are great but how many people read the books before the movies came out??? The first time i read the books i was 12 years old.
Tolkiens books are cult, you can read them again and again but this movies full of visual effekts are boring. The movies are made for your eyes but not for your fantasie.

It is the same with the Potter Movies, Titanic or every other "Big Hollywood Production". You can wach them 1 time maybe twice but then BORING. So many potential got lost only because they want to make money.

I definately prefer to read the books.

This is like the Shakespeare filmings. Many people know and love the books. And other people watch the movies, try to read a book and did not even understand what Shakespeare meant.

Funny but i know a lot of people that say the films are great but however at all do not understand the sense and intention from Shakespeare.
This is why i think too much "Hollywood and effects" kill the charm of the books.

But by the films more people read the books.  Thus films are only advertisement for the books.

With Harry I saw the first film before I read the books (shameon me) but it did make me go and read the books and get hooked so it did work

In the 20th Century, no English-language writings had bigger sales than Lord of the Rings, except the Bible. It's going to be tough for anything to catch Harry Potter in the 21st, especially since we probably won't use paper books for very much longer!

Oh please don't say that.  I honestly can't imagine not having real books and having to read from screens.  Even when I read Dawn's fan fiction I have to print it out as I don't think it is the same on a monitor.  Just the excitement of turning the next page - we can't lose that  :'(

I like that we get to see some of the costumes actually on the people. Now we know that was Fluers First Task outfit at Comic-Con. I wonder what their all looking at. Harry cant be looking at the dragon because its on the right not left...possibly his broom

Just in, the first rumours about content. Noticibly Devon Murray and the Weasley dual are repeated (unless it's a Weasley dual with 2 other members of the Weasley family), and there's no mention yet of them using that trophy, or indeed anything related to Cho Chang, but there's time yet, but this is the first trickle of info.

Nothing against Warwick Davies - but do we really  need another auto from him in whichever role he's playing?
However, that's a good line-up on the rest of the autos and I'll be very interested to see the costume card inserts!

I'm quite excited about the Dumbledore costume along with the champion costumes and the evil Rita Skeeter (more misguided and selfish than evil)

But again, love Warwick Davies, but don't really want his auto for the 5th time

10 Case Incentive   :  Monolith Trophy

Maybe the monolith trophy is the trophy?

Other than some of the autos and Dumbledore's costume, I can't say I'm all that thrilled with the lineup so far.

Georgetown Card Exchange is listing a release date of November 2 (they have boxes at $64.95 each, 3 or more boxes at $59.95 each, and cases for $574.95).

Digital Heroes has boxes for $65 each.  They also had this image of the binder:

So far I think the costume line up is outstanding.  PLEASE add ties!    Not so thrilled about the props, but maybe once I see the movie I'll change my mind.  I'm hoping they're also going to use the Quidditch program and the Ministry of Magic banner shown at SDCC.
