You shouldn't be too upset about it, Mike. Only people who get cases would have a chance at a hotbox. People like you and me who buy boxes would never get a hotbox, because the dealers would see them when they crack open their cases and keep them.
Actually, I'm a bit relieved -- when I saw the title of the thread, I thought the news would be that the release was delayed again!

I thought it was supposed to be 5 auto's per case?
And I think you will be wasting your energy if you hope for hotboxes. I don't think we will see that one again....at all.
And you scared the crap out of me with topic.

Mike, can you post the entire message from Artbox? Maybe, just maybe, there really are two autos per box. Other companies have done that.

Well for the point of view of collectors this might be a reasonable thing - after all there were a lot of cards produced for those 20 hotboxes! THat's 20 extra master sets produced for those boxes alone. Although it did create an amazing "buzz" about the original set boxes

Yes, I will never forget the feeling of opening a box of cards and seeing on the top of the box all three case toppers and all 4 box toppers and after about 3 seconds of confusion turned into realizing that it was a hotbox, and after my wife found me passed out on the floor we opened the box and it was by far the funnest box I ever opened. And I received it from Potomac in a lot of 4 boxes that I bought, from an unsealed case Good memories!!! ztaylork

Sorry, deleted the other message. They sent me a kind of correct message after they caught hte mistake. Thats never happened before but Hello Michael, We do not have hot boxes for this product. The approximate ratio will be 2 autos per case. Thank you for your interest in our products. Artbox Entertainment Customer Service

Well at that point no one really knew how to "cherry pick" them, as they are un-marked. So I think it was just a matter of not knowing, but whatever it was it made me very happy ztaylork

Wow, your hotbox wasn't from a sealed case? Good for you!!!!! And the box should have looked more packed (or full), but maybe Potomac didn't realize that, or didn't care.
And I thought it was 5 autos per case? Did all this change while I was away? Can someone post the current ratios for me again?

The box didn't look any different as it was missing 2 packs to make up for the extra case cards, and unless you pushed down on the top flap and peaked in while shaking the box it was hard to tell the difference.

Not at all, and 16 of the other packs had both an autograph and a prop/costume in them.
