Whether it is a defect or a variant you would have thought the person making it would have thought Yuck. It is not like they were short of black material. Robert Hardy is a fair sized man.  I am assuming of course that the costume, props etc are hand made

I don't know the production process, but it seem logical that a person has to glue the swatches to the back of the card. If they used machines, it would have to be adjusted for every fabric and every type of prop material.

ya i'd go with it being a defect ,it doesn't even look well. i guess the person was having a bad day or something.if they were hand made though wouldn't there be more mistakes and stuff and i'd say it wouldn't be the most interesting job althoguh i'd gladly do it

I agree with it being ugly. I would rather have a swatch that covered the whole area, but for those who are interested I wish you luck on winning it
