costume or autograph?

which type of card do you prefer a costume card (a piece of the show worn by the person-except if its made by topss  -) or an autograph card (something actually autographed by the star-stars .i think we can all agree that the best by far would be an auto costume card but if given the choice which would you go for?

I really like the costume cards.  I guess because I'm more a fan of the characters than the actors who portray them.  To me it's more like owning a piece of the actual movie.  But if they did come out with costume auto cards I wouldn't be complaining!

I like both but the costumes more because an auto is just writing worth a lot of money and a piece of the costume is like what grecopa said, like owning a piece of the movie

I'm going with PROP card...but if you are going to make me choose one of the two costume as long as it was worn in the movie.

I have a really cool East Great Falls Football Jacket used in American Pie (American Pie 2 and American Wedding)  movie (if anyone has seen those movies) Have UK or AUS or others seen or heard of these movies?

I like the costumes better than the autos for the same reason already stated, but I like props more than I like costumes.

I am totally torn on this, the costume cards give an amazing texture to a film like LOTR which you wouldn't have picked up otherwise, but I think I prize my autos more.

I have got to go with the autographs... especially if the costumes are not film worn. The only way I would like a costume more would be if I got the whole costume and not a small swatch

American Pie (all 3) were pretty popular in Australia, though I confess I dod not watch any of them - not my kind of movie!

I'll go with costumes, not that I have any autos .  I  feel its a bit of the film, and props as well. Its nice to get to see it up close which just isn't possible on the big screen. I also agree its more the charactor than the actor. I like to pretend its real I'm one of those people who doesn't always like to watch the 'making of' because it takes away the magic. How can Buckbeak be a tennis ball on a stick  :'(

Okay, okay - If I had to pick (and I guess I really don't have to, but I'm driven to) I'd pick autograph cards.

Someone's got to be the oddball, right? And I think that an actor would take time out (and most do) of their busy schedules to sign however many cards speaks to their appreciation of the fans. That some truly big stars have signed, I'm thinking specifically of LOTR here, amazes me - there's not one who hasn't signed, is there?

I like autographs too, they seem more personal to me(even if the signer only held and saw the card for 3.2 seconds.)

I am a prop / costume fan for absolutely no reason other than I think they look nice

I generally prefer autograph cards I'd say,but my favourite cards are definitely my Rachel Weisz costume cards,just owning them makes the magic of the movie seem even closer

I like autographs because the actors are the people who made the characters who they are/were in the movies. To me, they are the ones that brought them to life from the books.

That some truly big stars have signed, I'm thinking specifically of LOTR here, amazes me - there's not one who hasn't signed, is there?

I think every major character had signed at one point with a few notable exceptions: Brad Dourif - Wormtongue; Howard Shore, Alan Lee, Fran Walsh, Phillipa Boyens, Ngila Dickson. And of course we complained that some actors did not resign for different characters: JRD as Treebeard, Ian McKellan for Gandalf the White.

I think alot of it had to do with the fact that alot of the actors were relatively unknown as well (Ian McKellan, Chris Lee, Hugo Weaving, Liv Tyler, Elijah Wood, Sean Bean, Cate Blanchett etc aside) and would have been more willing to sign in the earlier series. Whereas now, people like Dom Monaghan and Orlando Bloom are getting more and more 'starstruck' and sometimes seem to have forgotten that the autographs they knock back, 5 years ago, they would have been more than glad to take time out to sign.

I know I've seen Brad Dourif - Wormtongue at conventions - I wonder why the hesitation to sign autograph cards ... I know he's not signed for Star Trek either, even though he had a recurring role on ST: Voyager...

But he seems totally happy to come to events to sign for fans.

Perhaps he doesn't approve of the disparity between what he gets paid and what the box prices are, after all there's a huge gap there. I guess the licenses must be the real costs for sets

I think its sweet when you see Dan Radcliffes auto's with Harry underneath (Not sure if he does this on the cards I don't own any ) I think its sweet, just incase you don't know
