Yeah he said he paid $20,000 for it.

If you remember Gimli's axe from the same sweepstake turned up on ebay.

The thing that is puzzling me is that Bloom said he broke his bow on his last day of shooting

From the way he talked on the DVD Cian it sounded like this was the only one he used. That's not to say stuntmen didn't have some similar ones to look the same from a distance.

He was really upset!

If I were Orlando, this would be the one thing I would keep from the movie - its not like he needs the money, and the sentimental value would be far more than $20 000. Unless the studios didn't let the actors keep them?

NO, from what I can make out on the DVDs as the filming ended they were given a piece of memorabilia each, for example Elijah Wood and Andy Serkis had a ring (there were definitely lots of those used).

I had always heard Orlando had kept his bow so it's odd to think there might be 2, maybe Orli's is the one with the break in it - but to be fair they were not given their memorabilia until filming had ended and that would have been just after the bow got broken, so I don't really know what went on.

Does anyone know what Orli was given to keep?

I'd guess the bow or maybe those fighting knives?

I would guess that there would be more than one bow... it just seems unlikely they would use the same one over 8 (?) years of shooting the trilogy. So this one may be one of many.
