My fellow Yaks (and occasional llamas),

No doubt you all know that it is thanks to Mark and Roz that this forum even exists - thanks to Roz for all her hard work and thanks to Mark for allowing us to barge in on what is his showcase for his comics Smiley The forum costs quite a bit to maintain and the more members there are, the more the costs will be. The increasing number of members is great but what would be a great help is if we got rid of unnecessary material on the site.

In your PM inbox, there is an outbox function that logs each and every PM you send. If we could all occasionally empty this and also unnecessary inbox material it would help reduce the 'clutter' (no offense meant to anyone as I know I contribute a lot of clutter myself Wink) on the site!

Another thing that has been mentioned by a few people is the double posting - the modify button is our friend Smiley

And also buying through the Amazon/Sideshow etc links is also a great help!

These two lovely people do alot of the work on this site FOR FREE and they are not asking for anything from us in return. I thought it would be nice for us to do something for the forum. Cards aside, I have met so many great people via the forum and keep in contact with alot of them. I am sure many of you are the same!

Thanks guys (and yaks and llamas) Cool

Would it also help to make a contribution to the cost?  If so let me know and I would be willing to make a "donation". Grin

Becks - that would be wonderful!

I like you better than that other Beckham bloke Grin

Even if we all donated $2/1 pound each a month - that's theoretically $600/300 pounds a month! I know not all members post regularly, but if even 50 members donated a couple of dollars or a pound a month, it would be $100/50 pounds towards running the forum per month!

I certainly think that sounds reasonable.  Or just ante up $10 or $15 when possible (once or twice a year of course more if you have the funds to) count me in.  Where can we paypal our contributions for the site to?

There's a 'Paypal Donate' button at the top right corner of the forum - that will take you to the Paypal site.

Thanks for the support! Smiley

Oh.  Shocked  I never noticed this outbox, i ever thought, there isn't one.  :'(  Why doesn't it appear when i click on "Instant message"?  Angry

There was a lot of stuff in this outbox, tons of PMs. But i deleted all of them. Smiley

He hee - thanks Jo.

Emptying my outbox is something that I quite often forget to do, but I ought to do weekly.

When you click on your messages from the main forum you just see your incoming messages. Along the bar to the top right of the column of messages you can see where to click to see your "outbox". If everyone cleared this out once in a while we might very well end up with a forum taking only half as much server space Smiley

Thanks for the thought Jo, and to Becks too. We don't need £300 a month to run the forum Wink but any contribution towards the costs is always welcome via the paypal donate button at the top right of the screen.  Grin

You must be a real popular guy Tower, tons of PMs. Wink

I delete my PMs from my outbox daily.  As to my inbox, I copy the PMs to a MS Word file and save it to my hard disk.  I can then reference them at any time and I can use the search function to help me locate a specific PM quickly. (Anna's tip for the day Wink )

I have no idea if this will help or not but it is a suggestion
when you have posted a topic ( eg i want such and such a card) and you get the card
why not let mark or roz know that that topic can  be deleted

hope this helps

Paul your avatar looks great - it took me ages to work out how to do it  Roll Eyes.  If you want to delete a post you can actually do it from your screen.  Just get to a post you have made and there will be a delete option.  Although with so many new members that will probably be quite a useful pointer for others putting on piccies  Grin

Hi Sharon Wink Cheesy,

Many thanks Sharon for sorting my avatar out for me i really appreciated it!!!. It's my all time favourite cartoon which aired on ITV around 1986 on a Saturday kids show called "Get Fresh" with Gilbert the alien. This is the reason why my email addy is the name of one of the hero characters as shown here.
Once again many thanks you are all a credit to this forum which I love being a part of!!! Wink

Cheers

Paul
