Hi guys. Well I have a 6 foot by 4 foot table at my Comic Expo in Bristol to fill, so I thought I'd make some decorations, and I've made two tabletop standees:  So I am really getting into the spirit of things now. And for scale I've done a picture with a trading card by it   What do you think? |

They turned out greater than other standees of actors/actress that I've seen elsewhere ...
I dunno really how much they are worth ... just wanted to talk of there awesomeness!

Hee hee - they'll never be sold (Mark had aching arms the nxt day from cutting around them as they are on some sort of thick plastic board) but they are great. They had to be cut out by hand because no one had a machine to do it and card wasn't good enough for Mark anyway - it should mean that if we are careful with them they should survive a few cons  Thanks for the enthusiasm guys, I just want him to do them all now but it's quite pricey to have them printed so I think he'll just do one or two at a time |

I would sell them but the price would be too unreasonable for anyone to contemplate! After the cost of printing there is the time and effort it takes to cut the things out and then the number of times I almost lost a finger has to be factored in...!
I'd say £60 for the Cap'n and £45 for Polly... told you it'd be outrageous!

Have you thought of using foam-core board instead of the thick plastic board? Then you could use an electric X-acto knife to cut around the image. The electric X-acto cuts through foam-core like butter. |

that was my idea. First off it was the nearest thing we had to hand, secondly if we put a ruler there people would be squinting to see which side was centimetres and which inches, and lastly all our coins are different. The universal language for 90% of members of this forum HAS to be trading cards |

Haha well let me just say it was Roz who took the photos and so I clear my name of any sort of obsessive behaviour.. :p
It is a sort of foamy plastic stuff that it is printed on, and I considered trying to find a hot knife of some sort to cut it up but wouldn't know where to start, outside heating up my stanley knife over a candle! The thing that worried me was the possibility of it leaving burn marks on the paper element. It's printed on a big sticker and stuck onto the polyfoam board and laminated on top. Nifty.
