I've just come back from seeing it at the cinema! COOL!  Much better than the first time - the new director has made it quirkier than the others, the acting from the main children is significantly better, and the dementors are truly scary! The wierd thing is how much older the kids look since the last movie. Loved Gary Oldman as Sirius (very glad I have his auto card!) - wish there was more of him, especially if they'd shown him in Azkaban. I'd give it 4/5 stars - but let me know what you think!  |

hey
i am just back myself from it.i thought it was really good but didn;t see alot of the prop cards in the film,from what i could tell the only once that were really used were the daily prophet and permission slip card

I Posted this in the Film/TV Section then saw this post about the Movie here, So I will copy my post here

Well I took the kids to see PoA this morning, (9am at the Mall!) DOn't you just love School Holidays
Anyway, Good Film, But 2 real moans!
1: Quality of the Print, The Film seems to be very low quality, and was Soft Focus in a lot of sections of the film, seemed like it was just sections and not the entire film, did anyone else notice this!
2: Security, I really don't appreciate being treated like a criminal!, and 5 mins of Federation Against Copyright Theft warning before the Film, warning that security personel would be checking the theatre for recording devices,! Followed at least 6 times during the film by Theatre staff wandering thru using Night Vision Goggles to check the entire audience really was a distraction at points!
Was this a general thing, or did I just go to the Multiplex from hell!

shhhh not seeing it til tomorrow. I guess some of the issues are that this isn't out in the States for a few days yet and so they don't want us filming it and sending it over the internet to them... ...hmm great idea  |

Hmm,
Thinks should I go to the First Day Showing on each Continent!!!,
saw the UK First Day Yesterday,
will be In Los Angeles this weekend for the US First Night,
and then will be in New Zealand on the 10th so could hit the First Night there!!,
Sounds like fun, I will see If I can sit though it double jetlagged!

Oh, I didnt realise the movie wasnt out in the US yet.  Well, whenever you do see the movie, please post here what you thought of it, as I'm interested to know what people's opinions are.  |

well just went to see it again and i now love it best one so far in my opinion and it is fun looking out for the prop and costume cards on screen and then thinking i own a bit of that...........

My wife and I saw the movie last night here in the United States and we both loved it. I had read the prior posts and even though there were deviations from the book we found it very enjoyable. I echo the sentiments that Gary Oldman was outstanding in the movie - heck I can never forget his performance as the head Russian terrorist in Air Force One - and I loved Professor Lupin. The Dementors remined me of the Ringwraiths from the LOTR's!  I actually liked Hagrid's home where it was in this movie and the stairs leading down to it. Buckbeak was cool!! All in all I will see it again as the theater manager said it will be playing for a month here. |

Funny, I liked this one better than COS. I had not read any of the books until after COS. I wished it would have been more faithful to the POA book, but it works as a great movie for someone who may not have read the book.

My wife and I saw the movie last night here in the United States Oh honestly Ed - these backward behind the times countries - you want to come and live in a real Kingdom neverlo a few "states" - we got those too but we call 'em counties eg "the shire" What was everyone's favorite moment in the film? Mine was when the Dementors were sucking the life force out of Sirus and Harry!! Strangely enough one of my fav moments was just after that when we saw prongs. But my all time fav has to be seeing the marauders map... I mean where did they find such a thing... I want a marauders map prop piece card... but it has to be working. I'd chose to have Dumbledores office as he'd be pacing all the time "He does that a lot" |

Yea the map was outstanding and it is right up there in my mind with the Dementors! Thanks Roz but I live in my own Hobbit Hole looking at The Misty Mountains every day.  |

I wish they could have had Snape read all of the dialogue from the Marauder's MAp and seen his reaction to it, I loved that in the book ... and they needed Lupin to explain the Moony, Padfoot, Prongs and Wormtail names to Harry as well - that was left up in the air. The patronus was not what i expected it to look, I thought it would be a silver stag galloping out of hte wand or emerging shape. This happened at the lake scene, but when we later see Harry cast it after the time turner, it does not turn into a stag. This really irked me |

Oh, and I LOVED Snape in the dress... Alan Rickman played it up so well and really milked it for all that it was worth . SO funny between when everyone was laughing and Lupin continues to talk and Snape just wanders around looking confused.
