The Leaky Caudron just posted this info from Amazon.com:

Putting to rest recent speculation that the book would arrive as late as July 23, Amazon.com has announced that all orders of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will arrive on July 16, for no extra shipping charge. The book will be delivered via United Parcel Service Inc. and the U.S. Postal Service, and the company will refund customers in the continental U.S. who don't receive the book on time.

They did this for OOTP and it worked just fine.  It definitely saves me the time and effort of waiting in line at a store that Saturday.

Question: Are they printing on forest-friendly paper?

Bloomsbury is, but I don't recall seeing the same claim from Scholastic.

I am so excited i can't wait.  Thing is, the stores release it midnight the night before, and I have to wait for the next day to get it.  Maybe I will go to the bookstore for the excitement anyway.  I did last time and didn't buy it until the next day anyway.

I'm heading to Barnes and Nobles for their Midnight Party. I went to the OOTP one with some of the family, and my nieces had a great time. This time around almost the entire family is coming, and we are preordering a ton and a half of copies. Waiting is line worth the experience ...

I admit I am getting mine from Amazon but if I get tempted to go to a party as well and buy one at midnight Mark will be able to have his own copy and since we read at vastly different rates this will be a very good thing

It's an older article... she talks about the 'last' book as PoA... curious as why Amazon would publish this one.
