Not really a problem, more a question of courtesy. Should you leave feedback for someone who does not leave any for you? It seems to me that it is common courtesy to do so, yet so many people don't do so. For me, I leave FB only if the other person has done so. What do other people do?

I tend to believe it's the sellers responsibility to leave feedback first as you tend to make payment first.
There are some annoying ebayers out there who even when you replace an item lost in the post will leave you negative feedback for the length of time it takes (in my case they received their item after less than a month including lost post in America!!! which takes 10 days from here to there so you have to wait at least 2 weeks to be sure it's lost.. or longer).
But if you are afraid of this you could just wait until you get an email from the buyer saying they have received it and they are happy and you can both leave positives.
What's everyone elses take on this?

I am primarily a buyer and from what I have experienced in the past, when I send payment, I ask for confirmation of payment, approx time of arrival and feedback. Usually this is fine and the seller leaves feedback, but there are cases where they have insisted I leave FB, yet do not do the same for me!

I have found that Sellers usually leave feedback once payment for the auction is made. There have been others that wait for me to post feedback once the item arrives at my home. I always leave feedback no matter what because I do not like having to wait 3 months for them to be remove automatically by eBay in your feedback area. I cannot think of an instance where the Seller has not left feedback for my purchases. I have not sold on eBay.

As a seller as well as a buyer I leave feedback as soon as I can but sometimes it take a day or to after payment is received or i received the item just because I get behind and it takes me that long to catch up . ( housework included) But i think as a seller once you r3eceive payment you should leave feedbank
And as a buyer once you have received item you should leave feedback

I agree with you Mcgonagall. The seller should leave feedback when they get payment, and the buyer when they receive the item. I won't leave feedback as a buyer until the seller has left it for me, in case they decide to do a runner with my plus point!

Rubbish - you always leave ppl positive when they've paid you! Otherwise you forget!
Ha! I'm giving away all your secrets now!
Mint toothpaste - early positive feedback - whatever next?

Bit of both depending on my mood And actually to tell the truth I like to try and do what I said earlier but I end up just leaving it all in one big go because I'm so badly organised :p
