I can't wait. Here in the land of the windmill I won't be seeing this either (I should have told everyone at Uni I was going to the Netherlands and sneaked off to Australia  ) I'm glad the quality is still up there, did you know that BEFORE THEY MADE THE FILM they were getting £50 million ($85 million) a year from Royalties... and it's 10 years since W&G had their last outing. Well Jo - Wallace and Gromit have 2 Oscars already, a third would probably cheer them up - oh and if you are wondering why Wallace and Gromit only got 2 oscars when they have had 3 animated adventures that's because Aardman (and Nick Park's) other project (creature comforts) went head to head the year that "A grand day out" was released so they couldn't win the same oscar twice now could they? |

I went to Burger King today and had a kids meal, with it you get a W&G toy. You see it was just research. It had some interesting facts on the bag one of which was that the grass in the film was make from fake fur which is rather cool  Have people seen the website? http://www.uip.co.uk/wallaceandgromit/There are a great couple of shorts under videos which may be interesting for those that don't know the great W&G. Also the website has a shop too |

One of the (many) lines that had me howling and that won't spoil anything was: "Beware, the moon!" (look out for this one ) I won't reveal too much, except that I loved it - and the point that got me streaming with tears was "the purse/change" incident... ooooooooooooooooooooooh I nearly died! |

Empire have just hinted that they fully expect some oscar success - and Empire gave it 5/5 which is practically unheard of by the most highly respected Film review magazine in the UK Review
Three times, Nick Park, the genius behind Aardman Animation, has gone to the Oscars. Three times, he’s worn a different coloured bow tie. Three times, he’s left with the little gold fella — all for shorts featuring his inspired stop-motion creations, Wallace and Gromit. Well, their first big-screen outing has added about 50 minutes to the running time, but thankfully that’s all that’s changed — for this consistently hilarious slice of Britannia will surely win the Best Animated Feature award next year.
Of course, credit should also go to co-director Steve Box. For almost five years, the duo have locked themselves away to craft the1 first W&G tale since 1995’s A Close Shave. That’s a heck of a long time to keep gags fresh, but thanks to a beautifully modulated script, truly cinematic camerawork and editing, and astonishing animation, they’ve done it.
Were-Rabbit was funded by US behemoth DreamWorks Animation, yet it retains a charming homespun quality, fusing Ealing comedy tropes and Hammer horror conventions (don’t be scared — the Were-Rabbit is as cute as a bag of Jessica Albas) into a near dementedly British tone, augmented by a Pixar-level script that mixes killer sight gags, world-class punnery and ace one-liners.
However, the comedy is never indulged at the expense of the plot, which flies off in genuinely unexpected directions, culminating in a boundlessly inventive funfair chase sequence.
The supporting cast are clearly having fun but never overshadow the central pairing, Wallace enjoying a spot of romance, while Gromit gets all the cool action scenes. It’s a tribute to Aardman that Gromit, who doesn’t even have a mouth, conveys a cavalcade of emotion, from courage to suspicion to terror and, crucially, sadness, as Park uses those puppy dog eyes to elicit a few tears. Best pick out that coloured dicky now, Nick… Nick Park keeps describing it as a "Vegetarian Hammer Horror" which makes me giggle already |

I can't wait to see it not long I hope.
I did get the comic today quite good. And the next issue promises Trading cards *has glazed expression* Mind you todays one did have a pencil case. The only down side is its £2.50 which isn't really cheap, oh and its monthy.
