I'm an Eowyn fan but purely because of her "get up and do" attitude... I know Arwen's an Elf 'n all but Eowyn seems to have done even more for the cause... (I am of course refering to the WitchKing incident) and Viggo on more than one occasion has said Eowyn would be a good match for him (i.e. Aragorn) but to be fair he has a big history with Arwen and once you've made your choice, you've made your choice

I am more of an Eowyn fan as well - the whole killing the WitchKing act (I love the 'I am no man!' quote!) and... for lack of a better term 'girl power' she represents makes her a great character and role model. Along with Legolas and Aragorn, she rounds out my top 3 favourite characters.

To answer your question I do like blonde's but that is only one of the reasons why I like her.  The reasons you and FTY listed I certainly agree with and at least for the films make her a more impressive and appealing character.
